The natural drift of the Overton Window is to the right, which means a bias in favor of right-wing policies. We need a strong left to pull the window back to the center. Therefore, if you favor centrist policies you should support the left.

@Rabadash2 You honestly have no idea what you’re talking about. So I own a car. It’s worth $20k. The idea is to tax the cars value. I now have to sell the car to pay the tax. Now I have $17,000 and need a car.

“Unrealized gains” is a fake term made up by rich people to justify not paying taxes. Its the financial equivalent of a schoolchild saying “IM NOT TOUCHING YOU!” Sorry, but assets are wealth. Might as well say money isn’t wealth since you havent traded it for goods and services
The Refined Populist@RefinedPopulist

If your 1970’s home is now worth $1M, you’re on the hook for ~$10K/yr. Based entirely on unrealized gains. That’s absurd for the fixed-income elderly. Property taxes SHOULD be abolished for Boomers. But they should be abolished for everyone else too. Property taxes are evil.

if you can't roast kevin hart without talking about black people in general, you don't understand roasts and you're just looking for an excuse to be anti-black... it was a "kevin hart" roast...not a "black people and culture" roast fucking nazis killed comedy
The Breakfast Club@breakfastclubam

🚨 @KevinHart4real pulled up to The Breakfast Club and responded to the critics about his roast. “The George Floyd Joke wasn’t a tasteful joke” Check out the full interview on @netflix

Let me be clear — I'm not even a Kevin Hart fan. But the selective outrage over this roast is exhausting. A roast is a roast. Everybody walked into that building knowing exactly what kind of room it was, and now folks want to clutch pearls about it after the fact. Were some of those jokes a little much? Sure. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh. That's what dark humor does — it goes to the uncomfortable place on purpose. You can't selectively decide comedy is offensive only when it's convenient for your outrage. Real talk.

@jamara23732 @AngrymanChannel Wrong. He’s absolutely correct. Your need to keep Floyd sacred serves no purpose other than to wield some power over discourse.

Brutha, you just don't get it, and that is the sad part...Honestly, it's pathetic... Listen, you really seem to be missing the point, and it’s frustrating. We can appreciate the idea of a roast, where friends playfully jab at one another. However, the death of George Floyd was a tragic, inhumane event that the world witnessed firsthand. It’s simply not appropriate for a white person to make jokes or use his story for satire.

Joe Budden Speaks on Kevin Hart: “Kevin Hart is gaslighting people… The people that are offended don’t give a f*** that he had one of the best sets & if anyone is supposed to understand that it’s you.” He adds, “some of those accusations about Kevin appear true & if Kev doesn’t look at himself as one of ours then I’m not about to keep looking at him that way..”

During Netflix’s “The Roast of Kevin Hart,” comedian Tony Hinchcliffe turned George Floyd’s death into a joke while Kevin Hart sat on stage. George Floyd was a real person whose killing helped spark a global movement for accountability and police reform. Turning his final moments into a punchline on a major platform is not harmless entertainment — it’s another example of how casually Black pain is treated. We should not allow George Floyd’s death, or any Black person’s death, to be used this way, and we have a responsibility to say clearly that this is not OK. 🎥: Netflix

I paid a plumbing company $4,400 to replace a sewer line under my garage, and now my garage floor looks like it lost a fight with a sidewalk 😭 They cut a huge section out of the concrete, repaired the pipe, and patched it back in with concrete that doesn’t even remotely match the original floor. So I asked the foreman when they planned to stain or finish it so it would blend in better… And this man literally laughed and said: “It’s a garage floor, buddy, not the Taj Mahal. Be glad it’s not dirt.” 💀 BE GLAD IT’S NOT DIRT?? I’m sorry, but if I’m paying thousands of dollars for a “professional” repair, I feel like the end result shouldn’t look like a random parking lot patch job. Now I’m sitting here wondering if this just tanked the appearance — and possibly the resale value — of my garage. Would you push back and demand they resurface the area properly, or am I overreacting?

Spencer Pratt is an elite. Fool blew his $10 million fortune on wine, crystals and partying. He’s a proven liar. Said he was living in a trailer when in fact, he staying in a $1500-a-night hotel in one of the richest parts of LA flanked by personal armed security. While it’s terrible that he lost his house in the fire, he didn’t have homeowners insurance and admitted he was house poor. Thinking it’s a terrible idea to put a political novice who cannot manage his own personal finances in charge of a complex city with a $15 billion budget isn’t “sneering elitism” — it is called common sense.
Phineas Fahrquar@irishspy

This kind of sneering elitism is exactly how you get Trump. Or Pratt.
