Americans are finding it strange that almost every personal care item at Walmart is now being locked up, except sunscreens
I looked into why and found the real reason
It’s because stores like Walmart use loss-prevention analytics. They only lock what the numbers justify because locking everything frustrates customers and hurts sales. People abandon carts when they can’t easily grab items
It’s not random or targeted at specific demographics in a discriminatory way, it’s solely based off store data and what items get stolen the most
Sunscreens are an item that isn’t stolen very often, even for resale

My dad taught us to fold a flag the way he'd been taught in the Navy during Vietnam.

I grew up understanding what military service asks of a family. My father came home. Too many didn't — and across Wisconsin today, families still hold the flag that was folded for them.
Wisconsin is home to generations of Gold Star families, to communities that have sent their sons and daughters to serve, and to veterans who returned carrying the memory of friends who did not. From the cemeteries where flags line the rows this weekend to the empty seats at family tables, today belongs to them.
The greatest tribute we can offer is to live in a way that honors what they gave. To care for one another. To serve the country they served. To make sure the families they left behind are never alone with that flag.
