@MandarSawant184 There must be proper maintenance of any road and standardized process of building roads of any sort is quality standards that must be strictly enforced. If there is proper maintainance and building of any road, it's not required to concretize every small road for PR purpose

Concrete roads in my locality. The asphalt road earlier always developed potholes in the monsoon and was filled with puddles of water. BMC used to do dirty patchwork which made the surface uneven. Now the concrete roads are end to end concretized and culverts created for maintenance of utility pipes and wires.

@ShivamVahia @MMRDAOfficial @DrSanMukherjee Must do general review into the entire process and probe should be ordered into possible corruption of Pod Taxis. The blocking of roads without hiring contractor and doing land acquisition should be banned right away in any project. No digging into public space before Monsoon

Not a single thing or process about PodTaxi is in public. None. Zero transparency with a project that's supposed to serve the public. The great @MMRDAOfficial and @DrSanMukherjee yeda banake peda khila rahe hai. All we need are thousands of more buses, not a plastic BabaGadi. Infra Man @Dev_Fadnavis, what the hell is going on?! Is there any accountability left in your government?!

UK-based Ultra PRT, the technology provider behind London’s Heathrow Airport pod taxis, has walked away from Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) pod taxi project due to "business differences." Article by @sabahvir indianexpress.com/article/cities…

@TheVishalKay It is simple thing that government did not take into account. The older the car the higher the mileage loss, for example 8 yr old car(average age of cars in India) losses about 20% mileage and is this is validated by rising fuel imports @gemsofbabus_ @TheVishalKay

@paakittadnya 30 years North and other states got significant aid from center, Maharashtra made sure not demand anything, thinking was central govt would prioritise would be ungrateful to ask more. Mumbai's ignored, Maharashtra has to distribute aid because of debt due to following Delhi rules

Isn’t Kerala clean? Isn’t Goa clean? Just visit the southern parts of the Konkan region — the railway stations, market yards, and roads there are often cleaner than those in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia are popular tourist destinations. Besides being attractive, they are sovereign countries that can strictly control their borders & manage immigration. In contrast, states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and even Tamil Nadu are witnessing a sharp decline due to rapid & unplanned industrialisation, excessive uncontrolled migration, mafia-style construction, & unnecessary infrastructure projects. These once-thriving regions are slowly turning into BIMARU-like areas. The root cause of this deterioration is the insistence on treating India as a single monolithic nation. To prevent further decline, states should be given greater autonomy.
Devlina Ganguly@BackInBlack_DG

How is she wrong? Cleanliness is an alien concept in this country

I remember a few years ago Raj Thackeray had pointed this out He had mentioned only Rajasthan has lesser ground water than Maharashtra but our State Govt isn't brave enough to take the harsh steps A very radical change is needed otherwise MH farmers are doomed
Rohit Shinde@rohitshinde121

An indictment of Indian Agriculture. Ground water resources are stressed. Punjab is in the throes of a crisis. But Maharashtra isn't far behind. Farming belts of Maharashtra are seeing drops in ground water. Something needs to be done soon. Stop MSPs and other subsidies.

@Panks_Arora You may like the inefficiencies in the cities and the slums but the majority of people living in both cities suffer the highest rate of depression. The quality of life is so bad because of obstinate following of government laws which is driving society to follow wrong social code

One thing I like about Delhi and Mumbai is that both cities feel alive all the time. Delhi has great food, wide roads, markets, and a strong vibe. Mumbai has hardworking people, fast life, local trains, and a spirit of never giving up. What I like most about these cities is that they make you dream bigger and work harder every single day. What you like most about Delhi and Mumbai?

@DecentInd @Kannada_Liberty We should have realised when Mumbai was ignored by Modi in his first term. But simple people are bent on ignoring what's in front of them. There should be full decentralisation in India

High time Marathis realise that they are being fleeced left, right and centre by the Union Government Especially when Maharashtra's economy is no longer growing as it used to. It is unjustified that most of Maharashtra's tax money is taken to Delhi and spent in other states whilst we build all the infra projects with our own money

@AnirudhKejriwal It is not possible for this government to deliver any actionable reforms because it is trapped by own narrative of "everything is fine". And then there are pure corrupt orgs like @MTPHereToHelp

Got stopped by Mumbai Police last night, probably because they saw a Gujarat number plate and a chance to take some extra income home. The cop immediately started listing random violations - speeding, lane cutting, “driving in a hurry,” breaking rules - basically throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. None of it made sense, but he knew that as well. He threatened me with a ₹3,000 fine and asked to step out of the car and come with him to his vehicle. I had an urgent work meeting to jump into once I reached home and zero time for his nonsense, so I asked him to cut to the chase. The "settlement" amount? A crisp ₹1,000. The absolute best part of this transaction? As he let me go, he generously offered his personal "help" if I ever face any issues settling into Mumbai. Customer service at its finest. 🤌🤡 Dear @Dev_Fadnavis ji, please start paying our cops well. They clearly work very hard. But so do the rest of us, and treating out-of-state plates like mobile ATMs is not the way to generate revenue. Fix this. The biggest irony here : The cop who stopped me came driving on the WRONG SIDE of the road (along with half the traffic behind him) just to catch me.

@copwatchbharat The fact that they can get someone who is legal adult and tell him that his licence is illegal shows how corrupt the Mumbai Police and larger institutions are becoming. We extend our full support to Reza for getting justice and would help him whichever way possible

We got in touch with the victim Raza and he is now part of the Mumbai's copwatch community chat.whatsapp.com/DC4468DUC8OJvX… In the group he shared a video and Mumbai Police is trampling upon his Right to Record the Police Why are Mumbai Police Officers actively discouraging people to not Record the Police ? Why this opacity ? Why can't the Mumbai Police respect our Right to Record the Police ?
copwatchbharat@copwatchbharat

Mumbai Police does not consider GenZ drivers legal, they ask this full grown adult who has all the documents to bring his parents. Why is the Mumbai Police insisting on his parents and not treating him like an adult ?

Dhandha culture has taken over the nation. A large percentage of new startups seem to be some variation of trading, brokerage, delivery, arbitrage or reselling rather than creating fundamentally new technologies or inventions. Have we optimized an entire generation for commerce instead of curiosity? Is the education system partly to blame for producing job seekers and traders rather than inventors, scientists and creators?

@paakittadnya Prices have definitely settled that why daily expenses have grown more than 100% in price and why your average salary is ₹20000. Basically India is poor now and will remain poor forever unless we do something to be rich

On my way back from Pune, I stopped for diesel. I asked the pump operator why fuel prices are rising fast. He replied, “It’s a global crisis. The whole world is suffering. Prices will settle once it's over. Have faith." Common people surely have better IQ than SM influencers.

Electricity prices per unit are projected to double very soon, can EVs really be game changer? I don't think so. final take " enjoy the savings while it lasts, the govt will come for you for it's share"

Back from a fantastic 2,300km road trip to Solapur, Pandharpur, Akkalkot, and Srisailam in my XEV 9S. With this, we’ve completed darshan of all 12 Jyotirlings 😊 Absolutely love the 9S. Great comfort in the long drives. Got 450km range with AC and full load in extreme heat of 46^C, lot of fun to drive. Kudos to @anandmahindra for making a genuine rival to Innova, and the super fast 180kW chargers along this route. Also saved a lot of money on fuel (total charging cost on entire trip was less than Rs.5000) and toll (less than Rs.1000 for the entire trip).

Mumbai's central planning error, repeated across half a century, was to believe that you could control how many people lived in a city by controlling how much could be built. You cannot. People who want to be in a city will come, and if you do not let them live legally,

@deepeshgulgulia Much as it is our right to have affordable housing so is our demand to have unlimited FSI , the two things are not mutually exclusive. And we deserve change in building code

Mumbai’s crowding was not inevitable. The city did not run out of land as much as it was denied floor space. For decades, planning policy kept FSI low, froze supply, and made people pay more to live smaller. Wrote on how Mumbai was planned into crowding for Swarajya.
Swarajya@SwarajyaMag

Mumbai’s extreme crowding was not inevitable. For decades, the city kept creating jobs, wealth, and migration pressure while making housing expansion difficult through restrictive land and planning policies. The result was a city where demand kept growing faster than space.🧵
