Yes, I get it, there has been something of a double standard with casting. But people keep showing Gosling as President Obama. That is a very pointed jab, but I know of no films with black actors as white presidents. For the jab to work, shouldn't there be a black Reagan? In other words, while there may be issues, the genre of films that this image is spoofing (major biopics of modern figures) have not been cast color-blind. This is why we haven't seen Denzel play Nixon (and he would be awesome).

Al Gore used legal means within an election to challenge it, that is the huge difference.

Disputing or debating the results of an election is normal and necessary for any democracy, (and done by literally everyone) and it does not constitute a coup. He left office uneventfully and peacefully after his lawsuits failed. Is Al Gore a coupist for suing and trying to overturn 2000?

Trump's actions on Jan 6 are some of the most documented, and legally scrutinized chains of events in human history and in four years of very willful prosecution nothing could stick. As far as scandals go historically it would be minor if not for the unprecedented media campaign that followed, evidenced by public opinion already rejecting the coup narrative and it basically leaving public consciousness outside of left-wing news and academia. Very myopic and provincial view of history to compare it to such serious failures as the civil war or great depression.

oh i used slop here very generically, not necessarily in a bad sense. but in so far as i am not a fan of how from soft does stories, i feel like the stories are very random and overly complicated without much of a point, or if there is one it's so hidden it doesn't land. maybe this is just my bias, i often like when stories have a point especially if they are very complex. like some kind of philosophical idea. im ok with stories that are just about exploring a certain vibe or setting or what not, kinda like a slice of life but of a wackier darker world, but then having tons of lore for all of that can at times feel wasteful to me. tho im also mindful i didnt look super deep into the stories of from soft games, ive seen a couple videos and stuff and those formed most of my impression. i think a lot of the aesthetics are super cool but the story and lore are whatever mostly.

Ive never seen anyone actually talk about interesting stories or characters from elden ring, it's all just "look at this cool fantasy slop"
