@BooDaddyBen1

A happy old man at peace with his incongruity. Love to talk about a great many things like rasslin’, comics, politics, theology, monster movies, etc.

My 3 time Vietnam vet Dad sent me this gem when I was newly arrived in Afghanistan. Not too many tell it like it is anymore.

I’m standing at the entrance of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. You can now see the MAGIC CASTLE from this POV. They just recently took down the massive trees that were obstructing its view! How glorious!

@MidAtlanticPod I want to trade tapes with a fan from the other reality in which Magnum didn’t get in that accident. The matches would have had with guys like Bret Hart, Randy Savage, maybe Terry Funk and Dusty too. The heel Magmum would have been awesome.

April 12, 1986: Related, I would absolutely rock this Copenhagen jacket right now. But I wouldn't fight Nikita Koloff over it, as Magnum TA is set to do with the United States Heavyweight Championship. While Flair and Dusty were technically on top, it was the second year in a row that Magnum's US Title exploits were the lifeblood of the promotion.

@horrormuseum I’ve always liked that this movie was William Castle’s flirtation with “legitimate film.”

@RepSwalwell I wonder what you would tweet if some woman accused you of sexual misconduct in high school & the woman did not know when nor where this happened. This could happen to you someday.

The #Kavanaugh defenders are trying to stand on the process/timing of the allegation and wish to ignore its substance. Would they prefer that she never had come forward? Is that what they’re really suggesting?

@SandyofCthulhu Thank you! I would never go see Statham in a serious drama about Polish union workers. I want to see him snarl and destroy bad guys.

@allan_cheapshot Ladd was unreal. My favorite bit of his that he did everywhere was showing up in street clothes because he wasn’t going to wrestle the bum they chose for him that week. Of course, he always beat up the bum anyways. Cable and internet prevent these great wrestling tropes today.

Ernie Ladd targets Bruno Sammartino, then calls Bobo Brazil an Uncle Tom and spits on his name before turning his vitriol toward Vince McMahon in spectacular fashion.

@WonderAmericana It’s fun but dated. The Wolf Man was more accessible, especially with Chaney as Larry Talbot. Werewolf of London has more atmosphere. I lost my first tooth watching Werewolf of London while eating a caramel apple.

Universal's best werewolf movie is not The Wolf Man, but The Werewolf of London. (Originally slated for Karloff and Lugosi; a classic what-might-have been!)

@AJPWNerd I wonder if they would’ve even gone out of business as well. They might have just soldiered on as number two, basically becoming what TNA was.

I remember my 1st encounter with online wrestling fans in 1996. I was in a wrestling AOL chat room. I innocently said to someone about how I wasn’t a fan of ECW. The vitriol was sudden and intense, with someone suggesting my mother be s*xually assaulted with barbwire. I had been online about 5 minutes.

For the record, this feedback was in response to my saying I don’t particularly enjoy Attitude Era, NWO era, or ECW. Not because I own a pristine copy of Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall and wear a silk house robe with a tassel rope belt.

@BooDaddyBen1 No, but he did wrestling the Honky Tonk Man, Ken Patera, Lanny Poffo, Ronnie Garvin, Dusty Rhodes, Dick Slater and the Iron Sheik. He also tag teamed with Koko B. Ware, Jerry Lawler and Kevin Sullivan.

One thing I love about the online wrestling community today (other than getting screamed at and cursed out if I don’t like something) is the amount of old-school knowledge out there. You can have a convo with people about Thesz, Rogers, etc. Years ago that was really impossible.
