@Flashroxx @TrizzyDigital @DiscussingFilm Romero which created the main zombie mythos was slow and often used as symbolism. Other films were 1 part zombie horror 2 parts comedy. Like return of the living dead, or dead alive. Resident evil managed to actually bring back the fear factor that the genre kind of lost.

@Flashroxx @TrizzyDigital @DiscussingFilm Resident evil despite being cheesy. Took a genre that was notoriously camp, almost comedy with a veil of horror. And actually helped make it scary again. So you are kind of underselling it. It played a role in inspiring 28 days later which caused the zombie Renaissance.
