12 years ago sober from drugs and alcohol today 🙏 There are 3 moments that have changed the course of my life: 1. My parents making the ultimate sacrifice to stop supporting me in my addiction and let me go 2. Early in my sobriety (a few months), a man with 10 years sober told me that when we get sober, we GET TO go live a big, badass life 3. My dying grandfather who told me how proud he was of me when I told him my crazy idea of making a living on the internet If i hadn’t taken all 3 of these moments seriously, I wouldn’t be writing this tweet Blessed beyond words 🙏

When TV’s were becoming more common in the 50’s there was a big shift in the way movies were being experienced. It’s why movies started to use a wider aspect ratio, it could only seen properly IN THEATERS. It kept the art alive. I don’t see how this is any different

IMAX having this aspect ratio exclusive to only be in their special little cinemas is anti-art. Make the fact the screen in the IMAX cinema is huge as the selling point, not that you can only see the full authentic vision of the director in that specific cinema.

I hear you, and tbh I’m pretty torn myself. Would love to have a 4K disc included with the 1.43 sequences for any movie that has them, but that being said I can see how from a business perspective IMAX would not want that. It’s only partially about the ratio, scale is everything

@alejandroxpadi I’m torn on this tbh because Nolan always formats his discs to the 1:90 ratio on the physical releases and it just feels so good they’re glorious and only make me wanna see all of them in an imax theater even more
