We just presented at YC S25 Demo Day today. Honestly the energy is insane - I now at the end of the YC batch understand why everyone says SF is the place to be if you're building a tech company or really any company... Met so many incredibly smart and successful people today and we haven't even stepped on stage to present yet. Got on the TBPN Livestream. Tons of buzz around our costumes. Ideas on what to build next and the opportunities that will open up. Everything is just crazy. The craziest thing is we almost said no to YC because we had good traction before the batch but honestly the hype, energy, benefits, people that come with doing YC is unmatched and inconceivable until you live it. Thank you Andrew Miklas for convincing us. If you want to a start a company I cannot recommend enough applying to YC - best decision we've made in a while for sure. It's wraps on the batch. This post is an underrepresentation of the energy we are feeling right now and there is no way I can tag everyone that was a part of the journey during the batch but thank you to everyone. 100% would do this again. Your method is one way to do it but I would also argue business is all about risk tolerance and taking risks. The bigger the risk you take the bigger and faster you can win. Of course on the flipside you could lose everything. I think both approaches are viable and just depends on the person how big they want to go and how fast.

It's difficult Bora. Paying $25, plus product cost plus shipping, on top of lower margin due commission and ad spend to push - this can easily be a $50k write off. Sure, known brands can do this, but not a $10M/yr brand (or like 90% of brands out there). My approach would be TikTok first, Shop later. Build the profile with content, turn it into a store later. That's the cost of not risking lighting $50k+ on fire.

I have been to 3 separate Masterminds to listen to @itshudsonblake, founder of Billion dollar fashion and lifestyle company @comfrt. This is the "Hudson method" (as @Seanfrank and many others dub it) that he used and still uses to this day to massively grow his business from being homeless at 16 to being on track to hit $1 billion in revenue in just 3 years. Send product to hundreds or even thousands of small, new creators on TikTok per month. Pay creators per video PLUS commission with a HEAVY focus on incentivizing them to post as many videos per sample as possible. The more videos a creator posts, the bigger the bonus you should give them. Hudson gives MASSIVE bonuses for creators that post 100 or more videos a month something in the $5,000+ range if I remember correctly. Take all the creatives you're getting from these creators and load it into every ad channel, Meta, Snapchat, Youtube, etc to create an infinite number of new ad angles with constant testing to identify and double down on winning concepts and creators. Scale your ad spend on all platforms, constantly tweaking, adding videos, picking winning creatives, all while still paying the creators commission on the ad sales to keep them incentivized to make MORE content. This strategy is all about the "free" cpms you get from TikTok Shop creators + the infinite number of content and angles you can test across all the channels and THAT is what boosts your business 10x, 100x even 1000x. More ads, more angles, more channels, more eyeballs, more iterations = More SALES and more GROWTH for your business.

Another Claude feature that supposedly puts a ton of businesses out of business. But let’s see how it actually plays out, I’m assuming it’s just going to make these Meta AD agencies more effective and efficient allowing them to lower prices or drive more results rather than “killing” them.

I have personally seen 6 brands restart growth using the "hudson method" we are talking 5m a year brands to 100m a year brands. the steps: 1- seed hundreds of creators on tik tok small, new accounts, no one famous 2- pay them per video PLUS commission BUT heavily incentives them to post LOTS of videos bonuses for posting 100+ videos a month 3- take all the creative, load it into every ad channel you just solved creative bottlenecks and unlocked infinite ad angles 4- scale ad spend on EVERYTHING, while still paying the creators commission on the ad sales -- it isnt about tik tok shop sales. it isnt about gmv max. its all of it. you get free cpms on tik tok. you get unlimited content. and it jump starts the whole business more ads, more angles, more channels. this is named after the legendary founder of comfrt, hudson. all hail the ugc king.

@BoraMutluoglu Nah but this approach is nuts. The amount of brands that have a marketing budget to dish $25 per video, at that mass scale, are counted. Solutions need to be useful but also realistic.
