NEW: Texas has officially referred its birth tourism investigation to Attorney General @KenPaxtonTX’s Office after state officials say publicly available evidence linked two Texas hospitals to a scheme advertised through “havemybabyinTEXAS.com.” The referral comes just days after @GovHotWheels_TX ordered the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to investigate birth tourism packages marketed to foreign nationals and pursue any potential civil or criminal violations. Governor Abbott saying, “I am pleased that HHSC took decisive action based on my directive last week. FYI: Having work authorization alone does not mean someone has legal status to remain in the country. This is why the card states at the bottom, "NOT VAILD FOR REENTRY TO U.S." You can leave, you just can't return if your case wasn't resolved. A lot of people think work authorization automatically means a legal resident/immigrant. Someone can have an EAD and still be subject to deportation.
