@BorderUtopia @DanCollins2011 Because our ships have a much farther range then 350 miles. That is how air and naval combat work. Ground combat works by different rules. It's about taking and holding the ground. Effective range plays a role on this as well, but entrenched positions become a way to combat this.

We are doing a ground invasion of Iran with a couple thousand Marines? Am I the only one not on drugs? This is not happening. Guess they would take China with 10,000 then.

@DanCollins2011 Let me make it simple for you. There is this little island that controls the export of energy from Iran. We don't want to blow it up, because China would be big mad, and would throw more support behind Iran. We want to invade this small island instead.

@_night_brain__ Even if 25k marines are deployed, due to logistics etc, it's just 4-6k soldiers, and they have no heavy support weapons, no vehicles, no artillery - they're light infantry and even if any of them make it alive through the strait, they will get pulverized on kharg island by arty.
