@Variety Chloe Zhao made Nomadland. That was a small character driven movie. Just because she won the Oscar for that film does not automatically make her qualified for an superhero film like Eternals. It was too big for her. Nor for Buffy. It’s not her wheelhouse.

EXCLUSIVE: Sources say Chloé Zhao ultimately proved a mismatch for the “Buffy” reboot, with the pilot reportedly undershot and lacking coverage, requiring reshoots. Her filmmaking style, while acclaimed, didn’t translate to a dialogue-heavy TV pilot, and the new cast’s performances were said to be under-directed, making it difficult for the characters to land. variety.com/2026/tv/news/b…

Hollywood studios and media outlets do this thing where they blame the director for the problems of a project not going to plan when really what they mean here is that Chloe Zhao knew what to shoot and did her job but they wanted more and more unnecessary footage to be able to edit and distort her and the showrunners vision as a way to water down the reboot and take away their original style that would have worked. Even taking digs at the lead actor to make it seem their fault for falling through. Zhao saw right through the tricks and left as one should.

@DennisChavante @christopherrufo @ScottMcConnell9 Oh look, a hysterical zio bot whose entire timeline is shrieking at critics of Israel. Thanks for confirming everything I said. Manhattan Institute is funded by Zionist oligarchs. The evidence couldn't be more in-your-face. We all saw what happened with Glenn Loury.

Rufo, whom I've long admired, is sounding a bit less hawkish in week 3. Doing a lot of reading. Glad to see it. I wonder how far he can go before Ackman steps in.

@stopitjahn @zakfilm The only project she's worked on that's similar to Buffy is eternals, which was a total disaster.

@TAD_FAG @zakfilm Financiers don't give a fuck about awards. It's all about ROI and she hasn't delivered. She was given a big budget for Eternals, and name brand legacy IP to work with, and totally shit the bed. That's easily the closest project to Buffy that she's worked on.

@christopherrufo @ScottMcConnell9 No one buys this. You work for Israel shills. That's the only reason you have a paycheck. Every other issue is just to insinuate yourself into the good graces of your audience to act as a Zionist Trojan horse. You'll be out of a job if you counter message Israel hard enough.

For what it's worth, I have been dovish on the war in Iran since before it began, as I've been laying out each week on my podcast with Lomez. And I've never felt any pressure from anyone in my orbit, donors or colleagues, about my views on it. My institutional work is focused on exposing corruption in California, and my colleagues have been nothing but supportive of my views on other issues, including Iran, provided that I make a reasonable argument and maintain a standard of respect and decorum.

Chobani’s founder - Hamdi Ulukaya - is from Turkey and he’s famous for the work he does supporting refugees - specifically hiring them as a key component of his workforce. So why is his company @Chobani aligning itself with rabid Islamophobes who support the genocide of the Palestinians.

🗞️ 22 countries signal coordinated action to secure Strait of Hormuz, stabilize energy markets Leaders from 22 countries, including the UAE, U.K., France, Germany, and Japan, said they are preparing joint steps to ensure shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and limit global economic fallout. “We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait,” the statement said, adding that governments are already engaged in “preparatory planning.” They also “welcomed the International Energy Agency decision to authorize a coordinated release of strategic petroleum reserves” and said they would take further steps “to stabilise energy markets,” including working with producing nations to increase output and supporting affected countries through international institutions. The statement condemns Iran’s actions in the Strait and selectively invokes international law to call on Tehran to halt attacks and comply with UN Security Council Resolution 2817, describing freedom of navigation as a core principle of international law — while making no reference to the U.S. and Israeli decision illegal of force to launch war on Iran that preceded the escalation. Launching a war without being attacked or authorized by the UN violates Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, which bans the use of force, and can be considered an act of aggression under international law. 📌 The 22 countries that signed the statement: 🇦🇪 UAE 🇬🇧 United Kingdom 🇫🇷 France 🇩🇪 Germany 🇮🇹 Italy 🇳🇱 Netherlands 🇯🇵 Japan 🇨🇦 Canada 🇰🇷 South Korea 🇳🇿 New Zealand 🇩🇰 Denmark 🇱🇻 Latvia 🇸🇮 Slovenia 🇪🇪 Estonia 🇳🇴 Norway 🇸🇪 Sweden 🇫🇮 Finland 🇨🇿 Czech Republic 🇷🇴 Romania 🇧🇭 Bahrain 🇱🇹 Lithuania 🇦🇺 Australia

He describes a dangerous reality: State-backed settlement expansion, rising settler violence and a breakdown of accountability that’s harming Palestinians and eroding Israel’s security and its moral foundations. blogs.timesofisrael.com/its-not-just-a…

The fact that someone as known as Sofia Coppola is still struggling to secure funding for her next films when she’s an established director, with one of the more important voices for her women-focused stories that are rich in craft is disappointing. The lack of faith is one of the problems with the industry right now.

This Israel-US war started day one w/ the mass slaughter of nearly 200 children. It is escalating into a conflict that could cost untold innocent lives, American troops killed, inflation as bad as COVID and the end of US-led world order. And there’s basically zero protests.
