@GandalfsGoods @TheGriftReport I agree the timing is a problem. But if the price is irrelevant, why is is mentioned in the post? Nothing I have said makes me a bellend, but you have made yourself look like a complete retard. Nice one.

Keir Starmer jetted off for a four-day luxury family Easter break at a £200-a-night four-star boutique hotel in Valencia, complete with rooftop bar and pool. While lounging in the sun and sipping café con leche in a public square, Trump was issuing ultimatums to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants and warning Tehran they’d be “living in Hell.” Starmer stayed put despite the escalating crisis, five years after he slammed Boris Johnson for holidaying as Kabul fell, declaring: “You cannot coordinate an international response from the beach.” Macron spent the weekend on emergency calls with Trump and Iran’s president. Starmer? Not so much. Priorities

@anon_opin Funny how properly maintained roads, like motorways and roads under the control of Highways England seem to cope just fine… Not the fact that councils have basically stopped preventative maintenance and opting for cheap short term repairs. But yes, blame the road users.

Maybe the reason why there are so many potholes isn't because the council aren't doing their job, but because so many of you selfish pricks are driving round in 3 ton SUVs

@TheGriftReport Principles stand no matter the person. I am not in favour of Kier Starmer, but a politician staying in a £200 per night hotel is shockingly reasonable. I would say this about any politician.

@abeonbkup @JeremyClarkson Again, with an EV it’s all front loaded. But oil>petrol lifecycle uses water too. After about 40k miles, the water usage per km is very similar after which the EV continues to dilute.

@BotsWillEndUs @JeremyClarkson They still contain lithium. Same story. Very toxic, exceptionally water-intensive and poses severe contamination risks. We'll see in 5–10 years when these batteries start dying and need replacing. It's not a magical free energy solution it's portrayed as.

@abeonbkup @JeremyClarkson It’s true about an EV having more front loaded impact, this CAN be clean energy in the future On cobalt, an increasing number of EVs are using LFP batteries which contain no cobalt. Agreed on carbon credit. But the main appeal of EV is that they populous areas much less

@SapTheseCasters @JeremyClarkson The largest EV inside of China weighs 2900kg. A long range Tesla Model Y weighs 1990kg, which is actually less than a BMW X5, and around the same as an X3 or a 5 series.

@JeremyClarkson Just you wait until the market gets flooded with Chinese electric SUVs that weigh almost 3500kg with no passengers. That's the same weight as 2 new family cars.

@BMancunia @ukhomeoffice @gamecounsel In theory, as long as it isn’t targeted at individuals, threatening or intended to cause violence it should be okay. Posting an opinion isn’t hate speech but directing it at that someone can.

Police time will no longer be wasted investigating legal social media posts, freeing up officers to patrol the streets and tackle real crime. By scrapping Non‑Crime Hate Incidents, we are balancing the protection of vulnerable communities while respecting free speech.

@b___p_ @SnazzyLabs @elonmusk Yeah but I’m going for the best flight times/cost mix. Starlink, food, customer service are nice to haves but I can last 10 hours without any of them. For a little 2 hour hop to the EU, I couldn’t care less.

@PaulinusOfTrier @TRobinsonNewEra I never said they did. Nor do I believe that. What I was saying, is that Britain stayed in the war to further protect itself. I don’t even believe the pact with Poland was noble, it was a way to start an early attempt to stop Germany before they came unstoppable

@BotsWillEndUs @TRobinsonNewEra There’s no moral equivalence. Half way between right and wrong is still wrong. Poland owes Britain no debt of gratitude for having taken her out of the frying pan into the fire.

Britain entered the war because Hitler had grand designs of ruling Europe (obviously). Britain and France guaranteed Poland protection from German invasion, despite this, and despite many warnings from Britain, Hitler invaded Poland anyway. This is a map of a planned invasion of Britain in 1940 by Hitler, the plan was called Operation Sealion. There were three aspects to the German invasion plan: the battle in the air, the battle at sea, and the amphibious assault on the British beaches. So Hitler did plan on invading and ruling over Britain as well. Just in case some historical revisionist idiot didn't know that.

@PaulinusOfTrier @TRobinsonNewEra How so? They assisted a win, sure. They gained a lot of territory and increased their own power But so did the west, bringing a balance that gave enough doubt to ever launch a direct attack It was a compromised victory for both sides, but better than a loss for either side

@PaulinusOfTrier @TRobinsonNewEra The main issue in leaving two evil powers to slog out a war for an entire continent, is that the victor is guaranteed to be an evil power Had Hitler won Britain would be at risk, had Stalin won, Britain would be at risk The only way out, was through

Once Britain was in the war, it was inevitable that Germany would plan to attack her. The British declaration of war in defence of Poland was very noble, because the Nazis and Communists were allies and the enemy was « huge and hateful ». But once Hitler invaded Russia, there wasn’t much to choose between the two sides, morally speaking. Britain could have stepped out of the war and let the two evil powers slog it out. Instead, she forgot those initially noble ideals and when the war was over, handed Poland over to the Russians at Yalta, which made the original intervention pointless.

@SnazzyLabs @gtnftw @Pads1818 This week I’ve done a ton of driving in Germany Not only can you go as fast as you’re comfortable with, drivers will do their best to allow clear passage, even going out of their way to tuck in quickly if they are also overtaking It works so well, no ego, just efficient driving
