For another perspective on the rarity of this event, @NWSSPC has placed most of our forecast area in a Day 2 Extremely Critical risk. Since 2010, this has only happened 1 other time in the Denver metro and a few times further south. PLEASE avoid ANY sparks tomorrow! #COwx #COFire

The National Weather Service has issued a RED FLAG WARNING in Boulder County today, Wednesday, due to low humidity and high winds. The high winds will primarily be in the higher elevations. No open burning is allowed today. Avoid any outdoor activity that may cause a spark.

We may joke around about our hose dragging sisters and brothers, but when it comes down to it, we are grateful that each firefighter risks their lives every day for every one of us. Happy #InternationalFirefightersDay

The @nwsboulder issued a Red Flag Warning for a portion of Boulder County due to low relative humidity. There is an increased risk of fires starting. No open burning is allowed anywhere in unincorporated Boulder County today. This is the equivalent of Level 2 fire restrictions.

We are increasing the fire restrictions in western Boulder County to Level 2 due to the increasing fire danger caused by high temps and low humidity. We are also still concerned about firefighting & law enforcement resources during COVID-19. For more info: bouldercounty.org/safety/fire/fi…
