@axopoa I don’t think core dev is “slow and steady” under @AdrianoDiLuzio leadership. sBTC and stacks core dev targets since dec or so have been aggressive and consistently hit.

a major item on the stacks roadmap for next 1-2 years is improvements to sBTC. while active R&D is happening on cutting-edge design improvements, a question we often get is how covenants impact this. stacks has always had a design rule to never rely on any changes/upgrades to bitcoin L1. however, if covenants do get approved then it makes our lives easier. personally, i’d be extremely cautious about any unintended consequences of introducing covenants. i’d generally favor the proposal with lower surface area of changes (between op_cat, op_ctv, or any other). however, broadly speaking stacks architecture and especially future sBTC upgrades can tremendously benefit from a well-implemented covenant solution on L1. if signaling for covenant support gets serious, i’d personally be signaling support and i’m sure several other stacks devs will also be supportive. covenants are good for stacks. we’re early in BTC on-chain economy 🟧

I try my best to not give attention to shitcoins, but I make an exception for Stacks because it deliberately markets itself as if it is built on bitcoin, in a way that’s believable to newcomers, when it’s just another premined ponzi whose only purpose is for VCs to fleece suckers
