MAXIMUM RESOURCES DEPLOYED TO TRACK DOWN COPS KILLER @SAPoliceService The National Commissioner of SAPS, General Fannie Masemola has deployed maximum resources to trace Jabulani Moyo, an awaiting trial prisoner that shot and killed two detectives this morning in Roodepoort, Gauteng. A multidisciplinary team consisting of crime intelligence operatives, detectives, as well as the Gauteng DPC tracking teams and the HAWKS, are on the ground actively searching for Moyo. General Masemola is also calling on all people living in South Africa not to harbour this dangerous criminal who is in possession of a SAPS state firearm. The same firearm that he stole from one of the officers is the same firearm that was allegedly used to kill the two detectives. “Moyo must be stopped in his tracks and he can only be prevented from committing further crimes if the community cooperates with the police by providing us with information on his whereabouts. Moyo is a dangerous criminal and our operatives are on the ground looking for him to prevent him from committing any more heinous crimes. We will not rest until we find him and we are also warning him to hand himself over to his nearest police station.”, said Gen Fannie Masemola Those who may have information on this case including the whereabouts of Moyo are encouraged to call Warrant Officer Rabosiwana from the HAWKS on 0728444442. The murder of the two detectives comes at a time when the SAPS is preparing to honour 27 police officers that died in the line of duty in the last financial year. The SAPS Commemoration Day is an annual event that takes place on the first Sunday of September each year. The day serves as a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women in blue who paid the ultimate sacrifice to serve and protect the people of this country. The event is held at the Union Buildings where the names of the fallen officers are engraved on the SAPS memorial site. From 01 April 2025 to date, SAPS has sadly lost five police officers in the line of duty.
