@AdamShurey @Kate3015 He wasn’t asked to comment on the details of the case. He was asked if the Attorney-General had been informed that charges were going to be laid

@Bradstr01 @Kate3015 It had nothing to do with Albanese actually. The prime minister also isn’t supposed to comment on criminal cases, as he reminded people.

Like many who have expressed anger over the arrest of Ben Roberts-Smith at the airport today, the presence of media camera crews, apparently tipped off in advance, gives the whole scene the feel of something staged for maximum impact, headline, and humiliation. Any reasonable person would be asking why. While Anthony Albanese was right not to comment on the specifics given the matter will be before the courts, his failure to clarify whether his Attorney-General, Michelle Rowland, was consulted before charges were laid raises further questions. The absence of a clear denial invites the inference that she was. If not, it would have been simple enough to say so. Compounding this unease is the High Court of Australia refusing leave for Roberts-Smith to appeal the findings in the defamation case brought by The Guardian and others. For many, that decision raises broader questions about the consistency and fairness of legal processes in this country, particularly when reputations and due process are so deeply intertwined. Regardless of where the legal process ultimately leads, the optics of today’s events, played out in full view of cameras, risks eroding public confidence in the impartiality and dignity of our institutions. It is, for many, a troubling moment, and one that may well be remembered as a dark day in our history.

@MMAJarred @rippledxrp @goodfoodgal @robbierocket7 We get it mate. You’re a virtue signaller. You have no idea what the content of the video.; hence why you can’t comment on what was said. You saw who was in it and felt the need to show some faux outrage

@Kate3015 It turns out Rowland had to sign off on the arrest, so I don’t believe that he wasn’t informed of the action. Albanese governs by polls so he is sitting on the fence waiting to see the general reaction of the community before he makes a tactical comment.

@MMAJarred @rippledxrp @goodfoodgal @robbierocket7 Actually I was pointing out you low IQ response because you’re obviously incapable of articulating argument about the facts raised about climate change. I haven’t run to the defence of anyone.

@MMAJarred @goodfoodgal @robbierocket7 You dont think that people should have all the facts before they argue their point? Before they cost the taxpayer trillions, before they ruin the country? If not - that is the reason why reasonable people wont listen to climate alarmists, because they dont know the facts.

@nickofnz The average household solar system has about 30kg of oil derived polymer in the panels. Just about everything you use is made from oil

@TracyWesterman It’s interesting that you call people with a different opinion to you trolls. Is that because you can’t articulate a decent argument? You mentioned Chalmers and his PhD. He did a thesis on Paul Keating. It doesn’t really qualify him to run the treasury does it?

Wow! I forgot how many trolls there are on X. After tweeting about how many current politicians have qualifications relevant to their portfolios (in response to Pauline Hansons appalling political record)-what followed was a barrage of arguments that relevant expertise is somehow bad for the country —classic Trumpism and Hansonism. Revealing. And terrifying. Trump literally said he loves the uneducated — at a rally — and got cheered for it. That’s the playbook: manufacture resentment toward expertise so that incompetence becomes a virtue and accountability becomes elitism. The really dangerous part isn’t Hanson or Trump themselves — it’s that their supporters have been successfully convinced that being against knowledge and evidence is somehow authentic and brave. That questioning a politician’s relevant expertise is snobbery rather than basic accountability. You’d never apply the anti-expertise logic anywhere else. Nobody says “I don’t want a qualified surgeon, I want someone who just gets it.” Nobody says “I don’t care if my engineer has credentials, I care about his character.” As if Hanson’s character is to be admired. But somehow when it comes to the people managing the economy, health policy, and Indigenous affairs — suddenly expertise is suspicious. It’s not anti-elitism. It’s anti-accountability — and Hanson has made a 30-year career out of it without fixing a single thing she complains about.

Timmy, i’ve paid more than $100 million in taxes. I’ve created thousands of jobs, which enabled thousands of people to feed their families. I’ve contributed millions to wounded warriors, pediatric aids and support 1400 African children. And what have you accomplished in life?
Timmay@hardrocker0048

@genesimmons So youre a loser because all you love is money? Wow, no wonder you sold your soul for money and you'll rot away as a band that held on so long that your reputation will be nothing for the rest of human history.

Hang on ... WHAT? So when Albanese said that fuel didn't have to be stored in #AUSPOL .... Hang on. Labor can't have it both ways. LOL Poor Simon, he really needs to keep up. Albo 2020. IT MUST BE KEPT HERE Albo 2026. IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE KEPT HERE. Labor floundering.
Simon Banks@SimonBanksHB

On #skynewsaust @DaveSharma just backed @AngusTaylorMP's policy that saw Australia's emergency fuel supply housed in the US and not in Australia This is the "fuel security" the LNP really believes in

Aussies are being told this is not our war and that our role is only “defensive” by @AlboMP. So why are SAS troops in the Middle East? You don’t deploy James Bond for admin and evacuation paperwork. What exactly are they doing there?
