Let me reiterate, no bank will sack you after six months for not meeting your confirmation target. You're most likely getting an extension. Some Banks will give you extra three months, some six months and while some will keep you for over a year and six months till you meet the target. The reason for the extension is to give you enough time and opportunity to get things right before they make a decision. Some banks can be patient while some won't give you all the time.
