@Sox_Savant This is why if everyone stays healthy I don't see Ohtani winning. He's only leading in ERA. By the end of the season all 3 of these pitchers could have him beat by 50 innings pitched. Unless he gets to like 165 IP and somehow his ERA stays under 1, I don't see him winning it.

If they lost legacy would be affected. Hes def no gimmick SP tho.. if you compare burnes 2021 CY Young vs Shos 2022 szn literally identical

Hopefully this is a wake-up call for USA Baseball. That was the best lineup they could’ve possibly fielded and they failed. We lost at our own sport. Venezuela was outstanding. You can’t have a rent-a-manager and Aaron Judge as your captain if you truly want to win.

Ohtani is better than Judge in postseason hitting. Sure. But including pitching, where Ohtani has been a net negative in postseason, almost costing LA the World Series in game 7... it is a wash. In fact, his chamionship win% offensively is almost all cancelled by his pitching negative number. So actually, Judge has a better Championship Win percentage contribution than Ohtani does. Its nice to "be able to do something no one else can" but fact is, his team bailed him out after that disasterous 3-run homer that was huge missed opportunity for Obtani's legacy a two way guy.
