@JacobJaber Philz in SF was synonymous with tech good times. Great coffee and one cup experience.

The first Philz location used to be a bodega. Here’s a picture of the first coffee station and my dad (Phil) tucked in the corner of the bodega (you can see bottles of Rémy Martin on the right). The first several years of business weren’t pretty, but my dad and I obsessed over quality and every customer interaction. Eventually, we sold the liquor and tobacco license and replaced aisles of products with furniture from our house. The beginning of something is never certain or feels super organized, but passion and perseverance increase the odds of success. Don’t give up.

What is one phrase that has tons of different interpretations? I’ll go first. Lead gen. Ask any client what kind of marketing partner they want, and they all want lead gen. But what exactly and what’s behind the curtain

@alischwanke My experience: sophisticated tech companies think it's sales ops + marketing/marketing ops + SDRs. Most SMBs (especially non-tech) think it's simply CRM management + marketing and they don't have SDRs or much outbound anyway.

@Brandon_Lopez YES. How do you define it? And a more specific question I'm wondering about lately for RevOps, is -- at what size of business do you find leaders start to understand this better? Is this a common term in SMBs? Yes? No? Why?
