@HBombTrinity @harukaawake No everyone wanting to visit Japan has a massive disposable income. I dont....and I still want to visit. I do agree with you however about TikTok and Livestreaming and YouTubing in general.....and Social media....all of them are horrible virus and should be banned....

@BrantRaven @harukaawake Yes they are. They want tourists but not the broke mother fuckers that dont respect anyone or anything. Disposable income tourists (me) are the best kind of tourists. Im not there to make a viral tiktok of me being a pain in the dick

🇯🇵 I'm still waiting for the Japanese government to do something about overtourism. There must be some solution to this. Japanese streets are just too narrow for this many people and it's making it hard for both local people and visitors.

@Ausbobsmit Not agreeing or disagreeing with anything...but what specifically are we saying is absurd about this.... - the fact that he clearly doesnt look Aboriginal...or... - that any such person should not be able to make that claim Just trying to understand peoples thinking

@AbroadInJapan Is what it is. What should we expect? Should organisations simply ignore technology in favour of giving people a job? The reality is the majority of companies do not have a responsibility…legal or otherwise…to provide anyone with a job.

@harukaawake - Trouble seems to be caused only by certain tourists. Target those causing the bulk of the issues. - Limit tourism. Allow only a certain number each month from each country - Eliminate streaming. This is a major issue - Punish problem makers and their countrymen

@HBombTrinity @harukaawake why not simply say you dont want tourism! You cant have it both ways. You cant say...we want tourism, but we are going to charge $3000 for you to come here. Those are not compatible ideas.

@harukaawake Charge a $2000 or 300,000 yen entry tax. Put that in a fund for new Japanese parents, 150,000 yen a month for the first five years of that childs life. Solve two problems at once

@BryonTRussell @harukaawake Tourism anywhere is always going to be a problem and Japan is really no exception. What you have suggested will only stiffle tourism and forces the question "Does Japan want tourism or not ?" I dont think the country can have it both ways.

80% of the tourists visiting Kyoto are Japanese. Overtourism is every bit as much of a Domestic problem as it is a Foreign problem. Kyoto also happens to be broke. Solution: -Ban all bus tours that don't have a minimum of 2 night stay. -Require hotels have minimum 1/3 local ownership this applies to ALL FLAGS. -50% surcharge on Shinkansen tickets w/ Kyoto destination for all people who are not Kyoto Residents. -Double the Hotel Tax. We want the tourists. But they are a pain in the ass. So just make it count 円.

@harukaawake Please, please do not let these people get a foothold. As a millennial, Japanese exports colored my entire childhood. Growing up, the sharing of respect and cultural curiosity I have had with the Japanese friends I have has moved me to tears. TAKE ACTION BEFORE ITS TOO LATE

@AsianDawn4 As much as I love Japan and would give half my remaining life to live there....I find it difficult to have sympathy for them with this. There are infinite examples of how these people behave all around the world and yet...the choose still to import them.

🇯🇵☪️ In Kitakyushu, an Afghan mother complained that she wanted halal food at the schools because of her Muslim kids. Therefore, the school removed all pork from all dishes. A terrible idea.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. A few days ago, I’d started to feel utterly hopeless. I began questioning whether I was honestly losing my mind after spending too much time online, consuming sensationalist content that often felt confusingly at odds with reality. Since releasing the latest video, I’ve been overwhelmed by thousands of messages from viewers around the world who’ve genuinely restored my faith in humanity. I no longer feel alone any more. It seems so many of you feel the same way, tired of the direction content creation seems to be heading. It’s clear this conversation is about something far bigger and more unsettling than just Japan or YouTube. This week has left me feeling more optimistic, but also an emotionally drained wreck. Something I briefly alluded to at the end of the most recent video. Going forward, I plan to spend drastically less time on the internet and social media (outside of releasing Abroad in Japan videos). It’s become obvious it really hasn’t been doing my health much good this year. Recent trips to remote islands and mountain villages have reminded me that the best things in life aren’t found on a screen. They’re outdoors. Or moments surrounded with wonderful people. With that in mind, I want to spend the rest of my time looking up at the world, not down at my phone. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every one of you for your support now and over the years I’ve been lucky to do this 🙏

@Magnum702 @JEAlexander @OliverJia1014 May you always love you life there. I'll never really be able to explain how I feel about Japan. It brings out the best version of who I am. Ive never felt that way in any other country. Im now in my late 50s and it is painful to know that I will not likely ever live there.

@BrantRaven @JEAlexander @OliverJia1014 It’s a great place to live , I enjoy it quite a bit although to be fair my wife is Japanese, she has a good job and it’s certainly allowed me to settle in a lot easier. We also brought our dogs with us so not a lot has changed for me lifestyle wise at least at home

@Magnum702 @JEAlexander @OliverJia1014 I absolutely could not agree more!! I wish I had words to express how I would love to reside and build my life in Japan. I understand that it is not a perfect country...but it is perfect for me. I would happily, work, pay taxes and follow all the rules and norms!
