@deniscoakley11 @EmployRightsIE @HMcEntee It doesn't seem as though the Irish gov/embassy are doing much in the way of communicating with Emirates as to who is trying to leave & trying to guarantee Irish citizens are prioritised on Dublin flights. Hopefully people start realising just to take matters into their own hands

I'd be still be there waiting had i not taken the chance. There was hardly any Irish on the flight yesterday it seems...it was a free-for-all, fire come, first served!

Positive development. Emirates have decided to run a flight from Dubai to Dublin later later today. We are in close touch with the airline. They will be in direct contact with passengers whose flights were cancelled.

People from other countries with tickets to other destinations also managed to get tickets for Dub flight (not sure if they had to pay). It can't be booked through Emirates website

I'd take my chances and go to the airport if I were him. Anyway, just trying to help, as there's so much confusion and lack of clear info being given! Hopefully he gets sorted

All help and updates are greatly appreciated from Helen and Dept in a situation that changes hourly. All anyone can do is their best

@HMcEntee @dfatirl No mention of the 12 hour delays at the Omani border?? It's honestly not a viable/safe route for vulnerable people. Better chance getting out from Dubai. @HMcEntee What about people stranded in Dubai specifically? Is there any semblance of a provisional alternative plan being put together to get those people (of which I am one) back to Ireland if Dubai Airport / Middle East airspace remains closed?
