Reform isn't just a party - it's a business empire with unprecedented financial links to crypto and media. To many, this is fine: a new party with a new power base. To others, it's illiberal democracy in the making. At very least, we need the debate:- thetimes.com/comment/column…

Most of the country, including me, want Keir Starmer gone. We can agree on that. But what I cannot stand is this cock and bull story that voting Reform on May 7th will get rid of him. It will not. Please note three things: 1) Local elections are about which councillors you get, not which party has power in Westminster or who is PM 2) Yes, a dramatic loss of councillors in May will pile pressure on Starmer, but even in the unlikely event he resigns, you’l get Miliband or Rayner instead. Good luck. 3) even if every non-Labour MP votes against the government, 78 Labour MPs will also have to vote against their own government to force a general election. It’s not happening. The best way to have prevented the present mess would have been to have ensured Starmer didn’t get in, in 2024. So, come May 7th, vote however you want, but do not be misled or deceived into thinking your vote will influence whether or not Labour stays in power or even whether voting Reform will “get Starmer out”. It won’t. My advice… vote in May for the party and candidates you believe are honest and will do their best for your area, not necessarily their party HQ. express.co.uk/news/politics/…

Love this article by ⁦@KemiBadenoch⁩ in ⁦@thetimes⁩ today. The only leader to talk about the over reach of the State. Glad she has set out her philosophy and belief in the free market and in people. This is the leadership we need.

Even if Reform were to win every Labour seat they're contesting, Starmer will not be out of office by the end of May. Even if he is out of office then, we'll end up with the likes of Ed Miliband or Angela Rayner as PM. Is that really what you want? These are local elections and influence things like adult social care, road maintenance, planning and development, not all the things Nigel lists. The fact is that no matter how much NF says these elections are a referendum on Kier Starmer's premiership, and no matter how much you want them to be, they are not. They are a referendum on your local authority. Niether are these some sort of mid-term elections. Nigel is conflating national with local issues and elections. many of you will tell me I'm wrong, but you know I'm not. And, because I know him I know he knows the difference. I therefore also know he's manipulating you. I'm truly disappointed. It's dishonest politics. He doesn't need to encourage and feed anger. Instead, he should try to win on merit, detail of policy and credibility of delivery.

‘The voters can deliver a decisive blow that would mean Starmer would be out of office by the end of May!’ Reform UK Leader Nigel Farage MP gives a devastating prediction of the impact of the local elections on the Prime Minister's premiership.

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.
