Sums up everything I've heard. The story, essentially, is MMPR happened, nothing else for 35 years, and then a new team. So universe wise, imagine MMPR (S1? Maybe S2?) happened, then nothing, then a new team comes together 35 years later.
Time will tell.

Sorry for the month wait I wanted to hear back from my most trusted source on these Topics. But Power Rangers…… -Filming will NOT begin in April , focus will be pre production ONLY. -No one has been cast yet -Casting not expecting to begin until Summer -Delay has many reasons, Script Rewrites, Percy Jackson production taking longer than initially expected. -Show is still a priority for 20th Century, Jonathan and Dan but they’re not going to rush anything. -Current draft is still a reboot about a new team of rangers getting powers past down from an original team from the past. While dealing with a mind shifting curse. (As i first reported a year ago) -Lastly I’m not saying anything other scoopers reported isn’t accurate and I don’t want you guys to feel that way either. Apart of the game of reporting things early is there’s always a chance and a risk of things changing. Most of us are just messengers from trusted sources and that’s okay.

@Jinsakuu It’s funny that you say this… Because the new show is being developed for Disney+ in conjunction with 20th Century Television, which is a subsidiary of 20th Century Studios, who distributed the 1995 MMPR film, and 20th Century is owned by Disney, who also owns Disney+ and—

Imagine if the new Power Rangers show constantly referred to an original ranger team from the past all season, & in the finale Dacre Montgomery shows up as a cameo to give a motivational speech to the new team revealing he’s the Jason of the original MMPR team and this show takes place in the 2017 movie universe....Haha Jk unless ???
