@simon_ingram13 Hello Simon, could you follow me please. I wish to ask you a question related to your research paper on the experiences of uncertainty in FCPs
English

@Retlouping Thank you for giving an helpful response as always David.
English

@BrianCarroll83 I fiddle about with a few AI 🤖 I use google and notebookLM AI quite a bit too. Grok is easy, just click the icon and type away.

English

@Retlouping Thanks David, to parody yourself, I’m a bit of a ‘numpty’ when it comes to the use of tech.

@northwoods1980 @PhysioNetwork Could you elaborate on what the ignorance is that you refer to?
English

@PhysioNetwork Yes. Old information but much ignorance still exists on this topic.

Your patient’s MRI might be “abnormal”…
but that doesn’t mean it’s the problem.
This landmark study (Brinjikji et al. 2015) looked at >3,000 asymptomatic people.
What they found:
→ Disc degeneration in 37% of 20-year-olds → 96% of 80-year-olds
→ Disc bulges in 30% of 20-year-olds → 84% of 80-year-olds
→ Most “degenerative findings” increase steadily with age
And importantly:
These people had NO pain.
But here’s the part most people miss:
This doesn’t mean imaging is irrelevant.
A follow-up meta-analysis (Brinjikji et al. 2015) found:
→ Several findings (disc bulge, extrusion, degeneration, Modic 1) are more common in people with pain
→ The association is stronger in younger patients (<50)
→ Some findings show no clear relationship with pain (e.g. many annular fissures, stenosis)

@NickIlic_Physio I can understand the questions you may ask related to bladder function re:? CES . Changes to urinary function and non mechanical provocation of symptoms. What info are you getting when Ax BP? I presume you don’t check BP for every back pain presentation?
English

@DrJN_SportsMed HI James, if you don’t mind. Why a CT > MRI?
English

@BWhybrowPhysio Hi Ben, I think the answer might be that ‘it depends’ but in your role, do you often direct patients towards evidence informed resources or do you give tailored advice to the patient without these resources?
English

@k8purcellphysio @tomgoom @lizbayleyphysio @physiojack This may sound simple & controversial but I just tell them to start with what’s tolerable and gradually increase it over time 🤷♂️
And wear compression clothing if it helps them feel more supported.
English

Any good resources for running, strength & conditioning for a person with hypermobility? Ideally something that encourages load management, recovery, exercise suggestions, tips/tricks - but not too instructive? Thanks! @tomgoom @lizbayleyphysio @physiojack @BWhybrowPhysio
English

@k8purcellphysio @tomgoom @lizbayleyphysio @physiojack @BWhybrowPhysio Hi Kate, is the information you’re looking for intended for your consumption or is it patient facing info?

@johnnyddavidson ‘Paddy Wagon’ . It’s 2025, educate yourself.
English

Jamie Peacock put into the back of a paddy wagon by police:
Queen Natalie@TheNorfolkLion
Imagine if the police poured this much energy into hunting down actual criminals, the sexual predators and cold-blooded murderers lurking on our streets. Instead, they're out there flexing their authority on a middle-aged white bloke who's just had one too many pints at the local pub The British police are a joke. What a waste of time and resources!

@OutOnTheFull22 @SuperLeague Brian Carney should be on that list

@BrianCarroll83 These aren’t specific to this exact situation but are about cognitive reassurance:

This is why clinicians needed to be skilled in effective cognitive reassurance
