Maybe acquiring and then popularizing / resuscitating old but good and under recognized cable shows is a scalable model for Netflix? It certainly is cheaper than developing Originals?
Puck@PuckNews
Netflix’s resuscitated surprise hit “Suits,” in many ways, is a perfect illustration of how to measure success in this new streaming age. @loudmouthjulia digs in.

@AdamSinger Adam in one month: What are you even doing if you’re not gardening? Go beyond touching grass and start growing stuff once you come back from the gym and bypass the liquor store. 😉

@profgalloway Make branding mistakes all you want, but making me download a new app for your bad new brand is inexcusable.

@jessicamalnik If speaker line ups don’t sell tickets, what does?

@peeplaja What are your thoughts on AI filling the role of the back office? Talked about this on a recent podcast, and you're right that one person can't handle the work.

How do late-night show hosts come up with so many jokes? Of course they don't.
They have writers who all have to write 100+ jokes a day, and most of those never see airtime. Late-night show hosts bring personality and talents (people want to see them, can't be delegated, but the content they deliver has mostly been produced and prepped by the back office staff.
We're starting to see this very this now with business influencers.
You can only go so far relying on inspiration and your own experience to produce deep insights on a daily basis. Eventually you gotta work for them and the way to scale that is by having a back-office team do the research for you and prep the insights.
The influencer wraps these nuggets in their own blanket of experience and it comes across as legit and authentic. I know at least 2 people with a large following who have this already set up.
And I think it's the model of the future. Being an influencer clearly works (for attention, marketing), so companies putting more resources behind it only makes sense.

@MikeElgan I think it's a mistake that to follow someone's Notes it's required you also have to subscribe to their newsletter. Other than that it does look good.

@ryandeiss I thought it was you’ll get beat by someone with better prompts?

@AdamSinger People who didn’t live there last century when it was truly great feel the need to say this. 😉

@ScottMonty So standard time is better for us as humans, and daylight savings time is better for the economy. Not hard to guess which one will be chosen.
English

Here's an argument against daylight saving time from sleep doctors.
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Medical Association both favor permanent standard time — it’s more in line with our circadian rhythms.
