@radiator9990826@prince@LondellMcMillan Because the 2 people in charge of the Prince estate have no idea what they are doing and probably got an unpaid intern to prepare and post this?
“With This Tear” is out now. Listen at prince.lnk.to/WTT.
Recorded in 1991 at Paisley Park and newly mixed by Chris James, this track finds Prince in full command, writing, producing, and performing every note. Later recorded and released by Céline Dion, the song now returns in its original form.
Join us at @PaisleyPark tomorrow in our annual A Day 2 Reflect A Night 2 Remember celebration of Prince’s life and legacy. 💜
Tonight at midnight, experience the power of Prince live. Listen to the previously unreleased live track of Sign O’ The Times (Live at Rotterdam 1987) in ATMOS. ☮️

NAME THAT FAVORITE TRACK! 24 Years Ago Today, @prince released the celebrated album The Rainbow Children to the NPG Music Club as one long MP3 track totaling 68 minute, 49 seconds. Were you a member? Do U remember that?
It was his 24th studio album and while it was considered to be one his best albums musically, it was also polarizing to many due to the distorted "God-like" narration that many felt was too distracting.
The storyline introduces The Rainbow Children (those with spiritual enlightenment, "flying on the wings of the New Translation"), who "go about the work of building a new nation" with an "accurate understanding of God and his laws".
"The Wise One" (king of the Rainbow Children) and his woman (assumed to be his then wife Mayte, who confirmed it in her book The Most Beautiful) are tempted by "The Resistor" "as prophesied". The woman gave into The Resistor and was banished from the land along with five others, who became "The Banished Ones". I really wish I knew who the other 5 was... But the "Wise One" trusted in God to bring him another woman (assumed to be Manuela Testolini).
The Banished Ones take over the world, except for the palace of the Rainbow Children, which the Banished Ones surround with a "digital garden". This is assumed to speak on the state of music online. The Banished Ones try to remove The Wise One from power who "obliged with an invisible deed" (assumed to be the release of this album Rainbow Children - as one long MP3), and The Banished Ones return to the place of their birth, "Menda City" (mendacity = lying, dishonesty).
The Rainbow Children then "go door-to-door in search of those willing to do the work" of dismantling the digital garden. The Wise One then seduces "The Muse" (Manuela), bringing her into "the Sensual Everafter", implanting in her a "seed of knowledge". And the "haze is finally broken" as the Rainbow Children chase away away The Banished Ones and deconstruct the digital garden. The Muse awakes, "this time as a queen".
The story ends with the statement "from this day forward ’Til times indefinite, those who love Christ are the ones who benefit. All the players’ ice melted into one platinum chain and in a downward spiral it dripped down the drain."
Did you follow that? Name that favorite track and tell us where YOU stand on tis album! I'll start: it's one of my top 3 favorite albums by Prince.

@prydrm@prince@recordstoreday This doesn't look hot. It looks lukewarm. Wouldn't a better record store day release have been the soundboard recording of the mini 1985 Nice France gig?

@Jeanpit4@CaseyRain The estate sacked Duane Tudhal. This is going to be a complete shit show from now on run by lawyers who have no absolutely no idea (or even care about) Prince's legacy or his fans that have been there from the early days.
@CaseyRain Are you serious ? What is unrealistic is the defense of the current Estate , the previous one was a team of serious, qualified people for the job.
Ok so the Vault and Future Plans panel was amazing. We had Londell, Charles, Johnny Nelson and Zach from Sony on the stage and a LOT was discussed:
Main takeaways:
The Estate wants to get to a much more regular cadence of releases of different sizes
Possibility of ATWIAD reissue soon!
Piano & A Mic release looks likely along with Parade 10th anniversary
Lots of breakdown of their process between Estate and Sony and how they approach things
Very transparent and lots of audience questions were answered!
Netflix situation discussed at length and we should all be grateful it was canned - the approach was NOT IT and was totally disrespectful to P.
Multiple documentaries to come - could be with multiple partners
@hkhan1362@BluCollrBrandon@realMaalouf So Allah takes into account daylight savings time, different international time zones or even different interstate time zones? Its the 21st century and people still believe in & make excuses for the ridiculousness of religion.
On this day in 1985, Prince and The Revolution released their seventh studio album, 'Around the World in a Day' and urged us all to "Open your heart, open your mind." 🌎
@funinthesunaz1@prince So your problem is with the quality of Prince's music, but you blame the estate for this? Another idiotic comment in a long line of idiotic comments.
On this day in 2010, Prince began recording 'Welcome 2 America', which became the first full previously unreleased album of his to be released posthumously.
He also embarked on a Welcome 2 America tour from 2010 - 2012.
