This soccer player's defense was not strong enough to stop her from scoring a DUI. Officers found Taylor Sutherlin slumped over the wheel, completely unresponsive as the light cycled through green. ​When police finally managed to wake her up, the story took a sharp turn. Sutherlin claimed she wasn't sleeping—she was just "waiting for the light to turn green"—and mentioned she was heading home from a soccer game at the Showare Center. However, officers quickly noticed signs of impairment that didn't match her story. When asked for registration and insurance, she handed over a stack of unrelated papers, seemingly unable to locate the correct documents. ​ During the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, her inability to follow the officer's finger gave police the probable cause they needed. ​ Recognizing she was struggling with the Field Sobriety Tests (FSTs), Sutherlin asked if she could stop. Based on her being passed out at the wheel and her performance on the scene, she was placed under arrest for DUI. ​ ​Things didn't get easier once they reached the station. Sutherlin became increasingly argumentative, resisting a standard mouth check and demanding to speak with a lawyer. When she finally got a call through, the interaction didn't go as planned—she claimed the lawyer’s wife answered and hung up on her. ​Ultimately, her back-and-forth and lack of cooperation were marked as a refusal to take the breathalyzer. In the state of Washington, a refusal at the station is a massive gamble, often leading to an automatic one-year license suspension and being used as evidence of "consciousness of guilt" in court.

@TheDailyDraught I'm beginning to question that myself. COY HILL is one of the best whiskeys I've had. I'm assuming the Tanyard HILL rye is also just as amazing. The twice barreled rye and sbbp rye is also fantastic.

I believe in the power of prayer. Please join me in praying for Maddox. Dear Jesus, please heal him and help his family get through this difficult time 🙏✝️🙏 Last night Maddox Graser had two hits and helped his Wooster High School baseball team win 10 to 0. He was perfectly fine. By 8 pm he was throwing up at home. It got worse fast. He was rushed to the hospital in Wooster and then life flighted to the Pediatric ICU at Akron Children’s Hospital this morning. Maddox is a sophomore. A second baseman. A teammate. A son. Right now he has no brain activity. From a baseball field celebrating a win to a pediatric ICU fighting for his life in less than twelve hours. His family never saw this coming. Nobody did. His mom and dad are sitting in that hospital right now needing every prayer they can get. If you believe in miracles please stop scrolling right now and say one for Maddox. His family is pleading for them. Please share this post. The wider this reaches the more people are praying over this young man tonight. Maddox Graser. Remember that name and lift it up.
