This afternoon at State House Entebbe, I met a delegation from Africa Centers for Disease Control (CDC) led by Director General Dr. Jean Kaseya, who briefed me on the regional Ebola situation and the measures being taken to ensure Uganda remains protected. They proposed establishing a continental Incident Management Support Team for Ebola in Kampala to strengthen regional coordination and monitoring efforts, which Uganda welcomes and will support. With proper attention and preparedness, Ebola is very manageable.

The Uganda Police Certificate of Good Conduct through INTERPOL costs only UGX 76,000 and is processed within just 5 working days. Yet many Ugandans and foreign applicants continue paying between UGX 300,000 and 400,000 to middlemen for a service they can easily apply for themselves using their phones.

Man, i was dressed elegantly in a full suit, best i could be. The guy almost sent me back coz the person i was going to meet was not picking calls. I had to call someone outside parliament who actually didnt work there, briefed him to speak loudly on phone when i go back to asikari to let me in that i am to meet him inside asap. it worked. our own public (not so public) institution doesnt welcome the public.

UPDATE: Four suspects have been charged before Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court over the theft of seven laptops from the Bank of Uganda worth Shs 35.4 million. They include Boaz Kule Michael, 19, a casual worker from Makindye, and Kabuye Ramadhan, a bus conductor, accused of breaking into the Central Bank on Kampala Road on May 3, 2026. They are jointly charged with Isaac Rubangakene, a mobile phone accessories dealer, and Jorem Jude Oedo, a 43-year-old bus computer technician from Kyengera, accused of receiving and retaining the stolen items.
