Happening now: The Chief Justice, Justice Dr Flavian Zeija, has this morning set off from Entebbe for Kalangala ahead of the official launch of the Judiciary’s first motor boat, a significant milestone in enhancing access to justice for island communities. The Chief Justice is accompanied by senior Judiciary leadership, including the Principal Judge, Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo, the Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, Dr Pius Bigirimana, and the Acting Chief Registrar, HW Pamella Lamunu Ocaya. Also part of the delegation are Judges and members of Senior Management, highlighting the institutional importance of the initiative aimed at improving service delivery in hard-to-reach areas. The motor boat is expected to facilitate judicial outreach, ease movement of judicial officers, and strengthen the administration of justice across the island districts

“We have been gradually enhancing salaries of other staff, Government have been enhanced, the assistant commissioners have been enhanced, and next year we are going to enhance the principals, and the other year we shall go to the officers until when we get to the lowest level," Musasizi said. "And when I mention commissioners, even the chief administrative officers in districts are at the level of commissioners. They are now earning UGX12 Million. They have moved from the previous UGX1.8 Million to now UGX12 Million.” 📸@Parliament_Ug
