I really loved this from Mikaela Shiffrin after her win yesterday. So honest and emotional when speaking about her fear of winning, knowing her dad wasn't there to see it. I think so many of us can find some magic in her words. Worth a listen.

The Winning Difference
The Winning Difference@thewinningdiff1·
“It’s a process. It’s a way you go about doing things. It’s a high standard, high expectation, it’s accountability. It’s discipline, commitment, toughness, work ethic, pride. It’s wanting to be great vs. wanting to be normal,” Curt Cignetti The difference is within you.

I fell in love with this sentence: As you grow older, you begin to understand: your father was just a man trying his best with what he knew. Forgive him. He was living life for the first time, too. HERE IS WHY FORGIVING YOUR PARENTS WILL RELEASE YOU...

“Once you hit around 50, your time here in the world is getting short. If nothing crazy happens, you’ve probably got about 30 more New Year’s Eve dinners left, roughly 1,500 weekends, maybe 10,000 more sunrises, and then it’s curtains. So yeah—it’s time to hit pause and actually think about yourself for a change.” How many folks at 50 are still running around like crazy, trying to keep everybody else happy? Stressing over little stuff with their kids, freaking out about bills, grinding through the daily hustle—forgetting to even ask, “Hey, what do I actually want?” Half your life’s already in the rearview. Stop acting like the sidekick in your own story. Fifty isn’t the end of the road—it’s a brand-new beginning where you finally get to live for you. The first half was all about parents, kids, and family. The second half? Make it about sunsets, your hobbies, and putting yourself first. No need to sweat the small stuff or keep hanging out with people who drain you (the Trolls, the Haters, and the Fake Experts). The more you prioritize yourself, the fuller and happier your days get. Kick off your mornings with a walk or some tai chi in the park, spend afternoons chilling with a cup of tea and a good book, meet up with old friends for coffee or a little shopping, and take a quick getaway here and there. Don’t wait until time’s gone to have regrets, or until you’re moving slower to start dreaming about faraway places. In the second half of life what really counts is staying healthy and keeping a calm, happy heart. These years are gold—don’t sell yourself short. From here on out, spend your time on the people and things that actually matter. Hang out with the folks you miss, do the stuff you’ve always wanted to do, and live the life that feels right to you. That’s the smartest, most chill way to roll after 50.” #Gold #Silver will enable you to do all of the above. 🙏👍👌

Lotta life lessons that go beyond football from Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman describing what it’s been like for Karson Hobbs to lose playing time. “You gotta work while you wait…If you just wait, you ain’t ever gonna get an opportunity.” Real talk. on3.com/teams/notre-da…

Governor @JBPritzker , with all due respect, as a resident of chicago, downtown to be exact, we have allowed lawlessness to hurt our property values and businesses. As someone who owns a business downtown that has been robbed 3 times in the last 4 years with no consequences and a drop in our residence value of more than 20 percent, we should focus on resolving that. I’m blessed to be able to withstand the economic setback but others are not. Our conventions are down, our Michigan avenue vacancies are up and local businesses along with national chains have had enough. In other small towns across this state similar drops in prosperity have expanded. I would assume that impact to farmers, small business owners and large companies like mine won’t just stand by. Recruiting top talent to come work for us has been met with challenges around both facts and perceptions. While I didn’t vote for you previously, I have respect for what you and your family have created and the philanthropic nature in which you have acted. In this moment we need real talk, from real people who can affect a change in direction. We have a great foundation and just need to address the cracks before they break even more. @chicagotribune @CrainsChicago both have an obligation to delve into the details so that residents can be more informed about what is and what can be. While I’m sure this note goes without a reply, your comment below doesn’t set the stage well for improvement but rather dissuasion to others to come, see and spend. Please attempt to adjust your perspective.
Governor JB Pritzker@GovPritzker

To anyone who intends to come take away the freedom, opportunity, and dignity of Illinoisans, I would remind you that a happy warrior is still a warrior. You come for my people – you come through me.
