@BriggsyUTB @NorthamSaints I’m glad I can’t hear the music In this photo, looks horrendous
English

@KLC_MFC Unlikely they'll get kicked, although they should be made to forfeit the first leg as that specific game is what caused the rule breach (the 72-hour window was because of that game).
Not sure why Milwall come into this, we got cheated against, they played fair and lost.
English

@Hjortsbe1Samuel @YouthBoro @bensfc4 Also - this isn't just stealing a £1.50 Marsbar from a shop. This is breaching the rules of the league and gaining a competitive sporting advantage in a competition where the prize is £100M+ and promotion to the Premier League.
English

@BriggsyUTB @YouthBoro @bensfc4 Like stealing a mars bar and going to prison sonds justified to me😂😂
English

@Hjortsbe1Samuel @YouthBoro @bensfc4 Ah well, if Southampton hadn't cheated, none of this would be an issue really.
Only got your own club to blame, all anger should be directed at them.
It was a huge media issue when it happened to Leeds, BEFORE it was even a rule, no idea why you expect it any different now.
English

@cj_garrett That's exactly the issue. Imagine Southampton go up and don't come back down for 20 years? That's them unpunished for 20 seasons.
FFP usually has precedent though, this doesn't, so it's uncharted waters with this.
It's also linked to a specific game (the first leg) as a breach.
English

@BriggsyUTB Agree with what you’re saying, but some of these punishments are mad when you look at something like Leicester 3+years ago when they cheated and got all the prem money, and then got 6 point deduction 3 years later.
It’s a mess because football is such a corrupt business
English

@Hjortsbe1Samuel @YouthBoro @bensfc4 Second-leg result would stand as no rule breached for that game. First-leg would be changed to a FFT due to an unfair sporting advantage.
Sounds justified to me.
English

@Hjortsbe1Samuel @YouthBoro @bensfc4 Ah, so a fair punishment.
Well the rule in question is directly linked to a specific match; as in, you observed the training session within the 72-hour period before the first leg; directly linking the breach to the first leg.
Justified punishment is a FFT, putting you out.
English

@NorthamSaints @UTB191009 lol, no chance has an employee of the club spent his own money to go to Middlesbrough, risking his entire reputation & career in the industry and risking his job by bringing the club into disrepute, which he knows he'd be sacked for.
He's back working implying the club sent him.
English

All this fuss because #boro bottled being in the top 2 for 200 days and then won just 2 from their last 12 games. An iPhone from 200 yards away did fuck all and you know it. Just milking it because you couldn’t finish your chances, the 1st leg in which we apparently had the advantage for, you should have been 3-0 up by half time, yet you weren’t, you were horrendous Tuesday night aswell, this is why you are not in the final. Not because a young lad with an iPhone 200 yards away, but because you’re simply not good enough.
You lost fair and square
#saintsfc
English

@JLB_311297 @HolgateThat The EFL can't just kick you out. They don't decide the punishment. They can only charge you and wait for a scheduled disciplinary hearing by an independent panel.
English

@HolgateThat No it’s on the EFL more than anything, could of kicked us out before the first leg but they didn’t so it’s mainly on them, but Boro journalists exaggerated the situation so they also have a part to play in this
English

@horsnell_chris @imoprescott Just isn't true btw. Clubs are businesses and any club in this position would seek the harshest possible sanction for the benefit of their business. You're clueless if you think otherwise.
Had Southampton not cheated; there'd be no issue to discuss. The root cause is Southampton
English

@imoprescott Boro don’t care. Most normal clubs would just get on with it and ensure the EFL delivered a whopping fine but the victimhood on display is quite something. They lost on the pitch and that’s where results are determined.
English

@NorthamSaints Also imagine this isn't in an arena with lights, fog, effects blurring up the camera, it's clear as day on a pitch and he isn't very far from the pitch either. They haven't sent an analyst ~300 miles away to capture nothing. He is 3 and the pitch is 2.

English

@NorthamSaints Well, image was a quick Google search and isn't even the full resolution image because it's pulled from Insta. Very different to your blurred mess you've posted though. You can quite clearly see barely anything in the first image, to near perfect in the second image.
English

@RalphInUEFA @SaintGeorge_SFC @ar28071966 Also the points deduction, if a team spies, goes on to win, and they don't get relegated for 20 years; where's the punishment? Twenty years later?
The rule breach is linked to a specific game, in this case, the first leg, it should be a FFT as precedent for future. Spy = FFT.
English

@RalphInUEFA @SaintGeorge_SFC @ar28071966 The proposed punishments aren't good enough, that's why. This case sets precedent for future cases. A small fine and a small points deduction next season? Who does that deter?
Teams will happily pay £1M-2M to have an advantage in a competition to win £100M + promotion?
English

@AllenForSur3 @EFL "Get promoted legitimately."
> Team breaches EFL rules and spies to gain an advantage.
lol.
English

@DCoxy75 @DanW2Capital I also think that's what you'll only get. I don't think it's fair and I think it sets a bad precedent for future seasons.
Every team will spy to gain an advantage if the prize is £100M+ and promotion; and the punishment is only a small fine & 3 points deducted.
English

@BriggsyUTB @DanW2Capital We will get a fine and maybe a point deduction and then we can get in with it
English

This is probably the main reason why #Saintsfc won't be kicked out of the playoffs.
The string of claims from other clubs.
What if Derby, Norwich, Wrexham, whoever else decides that they've missed out on the playoffs because of this decides to make a claim?
Millwall turn around and say they could've got Automatics over this; or that they shouldn't of faced Hull?
Or every club that lost a game start going through their CCTV and accusing other teams in the league of spying on them.
So many repercussions and counter claims and appeals and what if's.
Rhys Peachey@RP2218
This whole think is a joke now. Any option now lets someone down. If it’s Postponed that unfair on the fans, but also the players with the World Cup being soon. But also if you kick them out and let Boro play, then other teams are gonna start kicking off.
English

@DCoxy75 @DanW2Capital I think Boro should be allowed to play, only because, even before the games took place, I said it should be a FFT.
Had Southampton won the second leg 4-0, I also think they should play as it'd be 4-3 after FFT.
I'm happy for Hull to just go up though as long as justice is given
English

@BriggsyUTB @DanW2Capital Well lets see how its plays out. As long as Boro don’t get to play I will understand the outcome
English

@DeeCeeeszg @bainesy1985 @SouthamptonFC @HullCity @EFL Would be happy for any teams that breach FFP to be exiled from the playoffs if they breach the rule though, think that's fair.
English

@DeeCeeeszg @bainesy1985 @SouthamptonFC @HullCity @EFL I agree and I had the same thought about FFP, but it doesn't really change much in regards to the other teams as making them FFT every game would just give every other team an extra 3-points, keeping the table the same, just relegating the FFP abuser.
