50,000 of you, following me. Thank you. I’m not a bot. I’m a chemist with a PhD. When I started posting about how science actually works, I didn’t expect this many people to care about nuance. But you do. If you’re human too, drop a “hi” 👋

I’m not a @NHLJets fan but that was one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time. 👏 🏒 🥅

Do you know what’s REALLY the big conspiracy when it comes to agriculture? The anti-pesticide and anti-GMO movement. An organized, well-funded, coordinated effort to convince you that modern farming is poisoning the planet - when it’s actually feeding it.

I research pesticides. I help develop them. And I explain how and why they’re used. Because I’ve seen what happens when we don’t protect crops. Let’s talk about it 🧵: 1/

One of the biggest myths about "Organic" food is that it’s more nutritious than conventional food. Here’s the truth: it’s not. Let’s break down the science behind this common misconception 🧵: 1/11

I want to debunk the myth that:- “Modern farming is a health disaster.” Sounds dramatic, doesn’t it? But there’s no evidence to back it up. Let me break it down. What’s Being Claimed?

We are alive today because modern agriculture has harnessed innovation to grow more food, diversify diets, and meet the nutritional needs of a growing global population.

Organic foods are not pesticide free. They’re also not healthier, more nutritious, or better for the environment. Organic pesticides aren’t better for farmers, ecology, or non-target species. Natural isn’t “better” - this is the appeal to nature fallacy. 1/

Words matter. Letters matter. And order of letters matter. Did you know that glyphosate was miscategorized as an organophosphate in @TheLancet article in 2015? It is actually an organophosphonate. There is a significant difference! Ask a toxicologist. To date, the article has never been corrected or retracted and it has been cited hundreds of times. It has also been part of calculated efforts by activists and NGOs to incite public fear about a very safe and effective molecule.
