Still very disappointed in the trip Commandment got. He should have been back there with Renegade and Golden Tempo. He got completely compromised being that close to the pace.

@BrklynMike @mikewilkening He is a serious racehorse but without pace figs people are exaggerating the pace. They went 21.78 and 45.36 when Rich Strike won in 2022. That is truly insane but it has happened before.The pace this year, 22.68 and 46.44 was on the quick side but hardly unusual, esp. the 1/2

I’m dying to see the Derby pace figs. They will flatter Damon Bourbon. He belongs with Afleet Alex, Closing Argument, Hard Spun, Oxbow & Good Magic on the list of finest Derby losing performances.

I don't think horse racing Twitter has ever been more positive than it's been the last hour or so. Folks are lifting up the sharpies who had Golden Tempo, everyone's celebrating Cherie DeVaux and her team...it's pretty wonderful. We should act like this more. We really should.

Renegade got demolished out of the gate and then for all the world looked home. Just brutal. @RepoleStable may be cursed in this race. Can’t even put into words how tough that beat was. I know the ice cream and don’t feel bad for me photo is coming but that was devastating

Travis' call was fantastic. Caught Golden Tempo about as early as you could. People on here giving him shit yesterday, guys been unreal for over a decade at the top level.
