Response: I'm by no means a he-man fan but no. There is this misconstrued notion of masculinity for then vs now. Make Meatbags from that generation definitely weren't just stoic and emotionless. They kept there emotions in check and had outlets. Outlets still exist now. In fact they're are more.

Masters of the Universe director Travis Knight shares that the film explores what masculinity is: In the 80s the mantra was, "Real men don't cry. Boys don't cry. If you express any kind of vulnerability, you must immediately punch a fence post to establish equilibrium. It was a really interesting way for us to explore these things that are happening in our culture, for us to compare and contrast what that stuff meant in the '80s versus what that means now." He went on to note He-Man's character from the original cartoon: "He was talking about kindness. He was talking about friendship and compassion. He was somebody who cared. And he was essentially like a bronzed empathy coach in furry underpants. It was unique. It was different. And certainly for a kid like me —  I was a sensitive kid. I was an artist. I was kind of a weird guy, you might say, and I made friends slowly when I made them at all…. I was comfortable with my own company, and I had deep thoughts and deep feelings, but I had a hard time making those types of deep connections easily with others. And so that very notion that strength and sensitivity could commingle, it was seismic. It was like discovering you could own both a tank and a diary." Do you think this captures the core of He-Man?

Commentary: Honestly, Kojima probably respects the hell of e33's team but is also wondering how he got swept by them. As a Kojima fan I can say e33 was better overall. I still enjoyed both games but e33 is dang near perfection. It hits every aspect of needed. Gameplay: fun and rich with experimentation, graphics: the art style gave it charm big time, acting: superb, and the soundtrack: going in at least my top 25 of all time.

Remark: I hear you, but if you like really good narrative experiences you are missing out. It is like 38 to 40 hrs for the base game. I haven't loved a turn based experience in ages. I was interested because the combat reminded me of legend of dragoon. In my top games of the last 6 years. Along with helldivers 2, god of war ragnarok and possibly returnal

Troy Baker, who returned as Higgs in Death Stranding 2, recently shared new insight into how Hideo Kojima creates games. According to Baker, Kojima "would rather have the player walk away impacted than entertained." He added: "The only way he knows how to swing is big." His games often prioritize deep themes, emotion, and bold ideas over safe, mainstream entertainment. That is why titles like Metal Gear Solid stand out and stay with players long after they finish.

@Brokoff81 @Pirat_Nation All the scenes with Mads Mikkelsen... so well done in DS1. And then learning his deep connection to the player? One of the best story moments ever in videogaming ^

@tykjen @Pirat_Nation Response: I actually think the narrative is better overall on 2. With its themes about humanity. I did have a plot twist in 2 ruined for me, which irritated me to no end.

@Brokoff81 @Pirat_Nation I will always recommend Death Stranding 1. Its traversal and combat is quite varied enough as is ^ Can never recommend the sequel. Most of all DS2 had a very forgettable story.

Dangerous question time ⚠️ Do you find 'gaming' culture, in general, leans more to the right or left wing, ideologically. Not, which way do YOU lean, but based on your time in the hobby, which side do you seem to encounter more often.

@tykjen @Pirat_Nation Rebuttal: they added more traversal mechanics, better pacing, better combat I will admit it is a hard recommendation to give to people. It is not my favorite Kojima series after mg. That belongs to zoe

@TheOfficialJOTS @Pirat_Nation Commentary: those are side notes in his games. They are not the main course. You seen one clip and made an assumption. Death stranding 2 is about loss, duty and acceptance. I can give you dozens of weird scenes in Kojima games

@PrimeVideo Who cares about this show anymore? If they wanted to make a bunch of degenerate pornography that has little relevance to the actual plot, they should have uploaded the show to pornhub.
