It's Spring though... We are currently in the TURN around and can expect warmer DRY air in California for the next 5+ years or so... Our current 5 year WET cycle is nearing it's end and we AGAIN failed to capture any of the abundance of WATER that we are going to need for the next "drought" period of California...

I've never listened to a podcast for more than 3 or 4 minutes. I don't have the patience to listen to people ramble on while I wait for them to talk about something I might be interested in. I'm not sure there's ever been a less efficient way to transmit information.

@avidseries The use case for me is driving and exercising. In the past, you’d really only get to hear the thoughts of the captains of industry or the political leaders through the filter of biographers. Now I can hear it all first hand.

Can someone explain why some 10 year old needs to travel hundreds of miles for competition that they almost certainly could have found locally? Travel leagues for youth sports should be banned.

@MHurabiell This is not the way. If you want everyone to be safe from poverty, support a means tested social safety net, not the socialist dream of ubi. Very disappointing.

@BrosephusRex I will never be socialist - no worries there! But, we do need to get ahead of looming crisis. And a program that saves taxpayer dollars is definitely not socialist.

I support Universal Basic Income because it will offer a secure social safety net as automation transforms how we work. We live in a rich country and all Americans should be safe from poverty.

@MHurabiell This is the thing. There is no plan yet in place for a society where everyone has been made unemployed by AI/bots. So nobody is thinking it through rationally. Not the tech companies, and not the gov. There'll be nobody to buy or spend anything. it's not an economy. It's disaster

Piers Morgan walks off his own show after being outed as a literal cuckold by a Kick streamer who showed him his wife's public IG thirst trap post in which she expressed how horny she was over the pool boy.

What Israel has done in Gaza clearly and easily meets the legal definition of genocide as described in the UN Genocide Convention. I lay out the case in detail here in @washingtonpost: washingtonpost.com/opinions/2025/… Words have meaning. Even if it offends some people, we need to call things as they are. The idea that Israel is somehow immune from judgment is itself an application of a double standard. It is anti-semitic to hold Israel to a different standard than other states. And that's what Israeli is: a state. Sometimes, states do really awful things. And to conflate American Jews with the Israeli state is yet another example of anti-semitism, which the AJC seems to be doing here.
American Jewish Committee@AJCGlobal

Mayor Mamdani’s repeated use of the “genocide” accusation against Israel is not just wrong - it’s dangerous. It distorts reality and fuels antisemitism at a moment when Jews are already under threat.

Leaders who claim to stand for human rights should not use rhetoric that puts Jewish communities at risk. timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry…

Hours after the release of NYT report: San Francisco is moving to change the name of Cesar Chavez Street. Arizona is canceling state observances of Cesar Chavez Day. The United Farm Workers of America, which Chavez co-founded, called off its Chavez birthday celebration.

@honeyscave @WarClandestine Worth noting that fed licensing is blunt and doesn’t impact some of the biggest players (nyt, cnn), particularly when compared to fed power over mergers and acquisitions.

@WarClandestine The rift between the White House and the media has never been wider. When the government starts talking about revoking licenses over war reporting, we’ve crossed into uncharted territory.

Seems like an important post. Trump directly accuses the Left-wing MSM of “working in close coordination” with Iran, to manipulate the public, and should be charged with TREASON for the dissemination of false information. The enemy is targeting our minds. Stay frosty.

@marinaosulli Interesting alignment with Lurie. There's a spectrum. Porter-Swalwell-Lurie-Mahan-Hilton. Where is the cutoff line of electability, based purely on where one hits on that spectrum, either for SF or for the State of California?

“Nice and quiet on the Great Highway after the permanent closure,” they say. So the solution is to dump that traffic onto corridors with more homes and schools? Most of the displaced traffic is now flooding Sunset Blvd, bringing more crashes and near-misses. Meanwhile, 19th Ave road repairs keep getting delayed because everyone knows the traffic impact will be a disaster. So why is it acceptable to push traffic closer to where people live? Why should people waiting at Muni stops, walking their dogs, or kids near schools on Sunset Blvd breathe more pollution? Many of the loudest voices supporting the permanent closure have privileges. They either don’t work or don’t need to commute in person to work. They already have the entire day for “nice and quiet” outside of commuter hours, yet they still refuse to share. What they really wanted was a closed road as a political trophy, proof that if you know the right politicians, everyone else has to deal with it. And let’s stop pretending there’s nowhere to walk, bike, or run along the Great Highway. There are already walkways, paths, and the entire Ocean Beach, plus weekend and holiday closures under the Great Highway Compromise. As for the “temporary structures,” ask Lucas Lux. He’s the one who decided to push ahead even when everyone told him to hold his horses. Enough excuses. Share the Great Highway. Compromise exists for a reason.
