So what's next?
Commands like useradd and adduser need to ask for your birth date?
Users with /sbin/nologin also require age verification, all to tell an app how old the nobody user is?
A new PAM module that prompts for age during account creation?
Ridiculous!

SystemD has added birth date storage in order to comply with Brazil and California Age Verification laws. Let that sink in. A Linux init system now handles Age Verification. github.com/systemd/system…

systemd has merged a commit by dylanmtaylor to collect and store users's birth dates in compliance with Brazil and California age verification laws -- which has been a controversial topic in Linux communities
the same dev (dylanmtaylor) tried to push a similar change to archinstall (Arch Linux), which has, so far, been denied -- but the discussion was reopened after being closed for a while
there are also reports of commentators having their posts removed or even being banned from the r/linux subreddit for posting opposing views to age verification laws and compliance
how can the subreddit of the leading OPEN-source project be so CLOSED for different perspectives? makes you wonder... reddit is a terrible place for open debates, i'm more than convinced at this point

@CryptoCyberia Huh? This shouldn't exist! Also, why birth date? it's supposed to be age 4 age brackets just like the law says.
English

So it begins.
ArchLinux 32 project has restricted access to Brazilian users.
This is due to recently implemented Brazil law that enforces age verification at the operating system level.
But this is more of a workaround, if I can even call that, than a solution.
More and more US states are proposing age verification laws at OS level.
What then? Will Linux distros start restricting their web access in those states as well?

@Teslimatttt Had to rewrite this one, because people misunderstood the sarcastic message.
English

@Teslimatttt Ichigo had it easy compared to Eren and Shinra?
Ichigo lost his mother in front of him, blaming himself for years, took care of his two younger sisters while also helping his father, all while seeing ghosts that no one else would acknowledge.
English

@BrotherPatrix @Teslimatttt How is it easy losing your mother right in front of you Ichigo literally sees his mother murdered in front and you call that easy you try and have your own mother killed in front and see if that’s easy
English

@sircney11253 @Teslimatttt You realize you are proving my point, right? Why does the tier list say Ichigo had it easier than Eren and Shinra?
English

@BrotherPatrix @Teslimatttt Tu me estas diciendo a mi, que si se muere tu mama frente a ti es un camino fácil?
Ok

@Teslimatttt Asta that was an orphan, live in poverty, no magic in a world where you didn't exist if you didn't have any traces, almost got killed by a rogue wizard that wanted to destroy him emotionally before had it pretty easy?
English

@Teslimatttt Naruto that lived as an orphan, everyone saw him as the devil, no one talked to him, constantly being shunned by society, had it better than Eren that was literally taken care of by everyone.

@BelaGarzo @UniqueHiFi @sonnenschein_e1 Oh, and the fun part. Apparently Slavic influence over a Latin origin is somehow magically only Slavic wannabes.
English

@UniqueHiFi @BrotherPatrix @sonnenschein_e1 The traces of the great "Romanian" culture are quite incomplete.
English

@BelaGarzo @UniqueHiFi @sonnenschein_e1 Let's assume Romanians didn't exist, and by that logic Hungarians were the first to not exist.
English

@BelaGarzo @UniqueHiFi @sonnenschein_e1 "There were no Romanians in Transylvania", also "Ohrid claimed jurisdiction over them north of the Danube." You can only pick one.
English

@BelaGarzo @UniqueHiFi @sonnenschein_e1 Magyars are Finno-Ugric steppe nomads from Bashkiria, the Ural-Volga region of Siberia, who arrived in 895 AD on horseback, a thousand years after Rome already colonized and Latinized Transylvania.
English

@BelaGarzo @UniqueHiFi @sonnenschein_e1 Your capital is named in Slavic, your greatest king was Romanian, your oldest chronicle proves Romanians were in Transylvania before you, and your proudest historical achievement is raiding Europe like steppe bandits until the Germans beat it out of you at Lechfeld.
