@1000HolyPlaces @MAGAVoice He didn't "give" them anything. He freed up THEIR money that we were holding ever since we froze Iranian assets in U. S. Banks.

@DaniWolff9 @Rat_BoyGL @LeadingReport Did you ever take American government in high school, did you ever learn how the federal government actually works? Or should we blame your lack of knowledge on the DoE?

@LeadingReport The DoE has literally done the opposite of its mission statement. Instead of improving education standards in the US, we've gone from #1 to #13 worldwide.

President Trump is taking bold action to dismantle the bloated Department of Education, redirecting funds to empower states and eliminate waste. With a budget ballooning to $73.5 billion and average employee salaries nearly double that of public teachers, it's clear federal overreach has failed our students. Critics whining about civil rights protections are just trying to protect their bureaucratic turf. Trump's decisive moves, including cutting $2.6 million in DEI contracts, align with Project 2025's mission to decentralize education and return power to the states. It's time to crush the waste and put education back in local hands.

@SteveNomadic It's because up at heights in your plane you are in complete control, but up at heights in a building you have no control at all - if it turns into the Towering Inferno or falls down you're going with it.

@jerrycurld There is also a helicopter flight path there, less than a half mile from an active runway. FAA needs to redesign that path.

Hours after he was sworn in, Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy will be dealing with the first U.S. commercial airline flight crash in 16 years. Four days after he was sworn in, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will be dealing with the first deadly collision between a military aircraft and a commercial aircraft in many decades.

@vlquinn50 @Michell33650674 They kept Biden in too long and then forced a bad replacement on us. KH was clueless. Trump is actually getting stuff done. Biden could have stopped the Gaza war but didn't get tough. Tough words from DJT and the hostages are home.

Our government sold us out. Every day will be worse than the previous. Biden could have stopped this. Trump stole the election and his administration is now going to destroy America, bit by bit. Don't expect this to only last 4 years. Every election will be rigged. Russia.

PRESIDENT BIDEN HAS THE POWER TO STOP THIS. HE CAN USE HIS EMERGENCY PRESIDENTIAL POWERS DUE TO FOREIGN INTERFERENCE, ELECTION IRREGULARITIES, AND THE FACT THAT TRUMP IS DISQUALIFIED UNDER THE CONSTITUTION FOR ENGAGING IN INSURRECTION. THERE'S NO EXCUSE IF HE FAILS TO DO SO.
Jo@JoJoFromJerz

President Biden is using his farewell address to warn us about the dangers of the oligarchy threatening our country as we speak. We must heed his warning. We have to stand up and fight. Our very existence depends upon it.

@SteveNomadic @ByronSwinford 10 Tanker has a small fleet of ex Northwest DC-10s that were converted and work out well. Those can make the trip to Australia. Colson is building a fleet of ex Southwest 737-300s. They do pretty well on smaller fires.

Big jets are not really ‘good’ firebombers for a lot of reasons. Besides being very expensive to convert and operate - turbojets are good at ‘high and fast’ by design and not ‘low and slow’. Firebombing is a low and slow operation. Bigger turboprops are much better, but they also have drawbacks. For one, firebombing is a seasonal operation, so to be profitable, the aircraft should be able to easily fly from North America to Australia to maintain year round profitability. Turboprops can be quite hard to ferry back and forth - especially with Russia overflight being impossible now. I don’t think there’s a special certificate to be a fire bomber pilot - but it’s a VERY difficult mission and the pilots that do it are specialists. It takes a lot of training and a ton of experience to get good at it. Those guys tend to ONLY be firebomber pilots. I’m not exactly sure how one would pursue this type of job!

1) some aircraft have an optional available “bulk cargo” access door on the aft/left side position. It’s rare. I’ve seen it on 747s and 767s. There may be others. This is a custom option that an airline can order from the factory. Bulk cargo is basically non-containerized stuff like loose bags, oversized stuff, etc. 2) a few reasons: removing, preserving, shipping both engines, the landing gear set, and the APU costs more than ferrying a whole aircraft a long distance. Also, what do you do with the rest of the plane? Well, you need big parcels of land with cheap storage costs, a team that can disassemble, tag, store, remarket, sell, and ship the parts. Even when all the high value parts are sold and gone, the remaining hulk is big. Really big. The cost of tearing down a fuselage often outweighs (by far) the value of the raw materials, so it’s hard to justify recycling the aluminum. Small bits of titanium and other rare/valuable materials can be recycled, but I think it’s pretty rare these days for a fuselage to become beer cans - which is why boneyards are lined with 50+ year old airframes for the rest of eternity!

@SteveNomadic @CaptBob_Nomadic @Nomadic_OMD Another great episode. Thanks. Two questions: What is the (what appears to be a) personnel door on the back left of the aircraft underbody? Is there a reason they fly these aircraft around the world for parts versus disassembling them and shipping the parts on ships?
