Most people staying home aren't doing so out of fear; they're trying to avoid becoming coronavirus vectors that could sicken and kill vulnerable others. Going out to bars and restaurants isn't "brave," it's selfish, the moral equivalent of deliberately coughing in someone's face

Matt Colvin in Hixson, TN bought 18,000 bottles of sanitizer before the shortage surrounding COVID-19. He admits to cleaning out stores in multiple states— intending to sell for profit on Amazon. Amazon took down his listings— he says he is considering donating. @WRCB

This. Too much of training these days is focused on accommodating modern humanity's attention deficit brains under the guise of being 'entertaining'. You know what's entertaining? Doing the same basic session week in, week out but seeing improvement every time you do it.

Not the amount of training plans is the limiting factor for a coach to support a big numbers of athletes. The own limit to deal with personal problems, doubts and fears of the athletes.A challenging part of the job that costs you limited mental resources.Take care of your owns!

Your content should be real and interesting. Write it like you would say it. Talk about your customers way more than you talk about yourself. Use images of your team and customers. Never stock photos. Have and cultivate a POV. Create both digital and physical pieces.

“If you decide that you’re going to do only the things you know are going to work, you’re going to leave a lot of opportunity on the table.” -- Jeff Bezos The unknown can be scary. However, taking a chance can turn out to be the best thing you could have ever done.

When you show yourself to the world and display your talents, you naturally stir all kinds of resentment, envy, and other manifestations of insecurity... you cannot spend your life worrying about the petty feelings of others

@epberg @stevemagness @DrMJoyner What you’re missing is also that “Dad” should care more that his kid is having fun and learning something. Not if the kid has “talent.” Who cares if a child is GOOD at a sport if they don’t enjoy the sport and have fun for themselves.

@stevemagness @DrMJoyner What you’re missing is that kids want to make Dad happy. Just like Dad wants to make Mom happy. But if the child isn’t very good, the Dad should back off. You can’t force a kid to be talented. But talent needs nurturing. With no parental encouragement, kids will play video games.

Thinking about the work is not the same thing as doing the work. Excitement about the work is not the same thing as doing the work. Talking about the work is not the same thing as doing the work. Only doing the work is doing the work. Not trite cliche. Truth.

The hardest thing for an entrepreneur is not what you think. No one ever talks about it but this will make or break you. People? Process? Product? Nope. It's dealing with the emotional turmoil. Managing the emotional rollercoaster is the hardest skill you must master.

Not sure how I missed this, but it needs to be seen and heard. @officialbarnesy is one of the most intelligent and articulate people i have ever had the good fortune to work with. He’s absolutely spot on with this:

I love this John Barnes interview. Gonna keep this here as I know it’ll be relevant for years to come. People need to understand how important the media is in influencing society...have a watch. 🧐

@BStulberg Totally agree. The reason that most popular training and diet programs are “hacks” is not bc they WORK. They are popular bc they require less WORK than long term success.

The cycle itself keeps us so busy and hyper-focused on getting/being better that we don't have time for, lose sight of the things that ACTUALLY make us better. Wellbeing comes from nailing the basics. Performance is built on that foundation. It's as simple and hard as that.

Big part of why this happens is because the basics can't be commercialized. It's hard (though not impossible) to make money off a 3-mile walk around the neighborhood, 8 hours of sleep, community and belonging, eating whole foods, and skills like patience and persistence.
Brad Stulberg@BStulberg

Don't get so caught up in bright and shiny objects that you forget about the basics. It's like building a fancy penthouse on top of a flimsy foundation. Anytime rough weather comes the whole thing topples.
