Lefty values but tired of the tribal left, pile-ons and passively received political "wisdom". Can't get behind: Gods, gender essence, Volksgeist, spiritwang.

@TheMechFrog Narcissists don't like being upstaged, even if unintentionally. If someone's bad at STEM, but vainly identifies as a person of peak intelligence, the sight of a rocket going up is going to be one hell of a blow to the ego. Tantrums follow.

@TheMechFrog ...all while overlooking that satellite imagery was a required part of the solution to many a said problem.

@janeclarejones At least people won't have to read their research into the question "do bears shit in the woods?", on account of the team not being able to write after being shat in the woods. Still don't know how they published this tripe, though, given that the bear is safer.

@MotherN90933211 @TheVikingDane @GappyTales It's almost as if certain people are apt not to realize that the Church of England has a huge presence across a number of African nations... 🤔

What the actual fuck have I just witnessed? 🤣

@TheMechFrog @DgpRector I suspect you'd prefer/possibly enjoy a Bunnings snag. (There are plenty of Bunnings snag videos on YouTube, but I can't endorse any I've seen).
English

@DgpRector At some point it's just a pile of miscellaneous garbage.

It may be my most dangerous hot (dog) take but, I think there's a law of diminishing returns for hot dog condiments.

esse é o famoso cachorro quente mexicano! quem aí conseguiria comer um desse?
English

@helenstaniland Yes, but by not putting "I've not been hiding my opinion" on t-shirts and billboards and the like, you've been hiding your opinion that you haven't been hiding your opinion for the past decade, which has been terribly confusing for poor sods like Richard here.

Doctor Who season 24 (1987). New titles, new Doctor, but still the same problem: a lack of BBC confidence in the show. BBC TV continuity focuses on the galaxy of stars here, and less on the Doctor for some unknown reason.
The Doctor visits a tower block, goes to Butlin's and gets to meet Tony Selby and Kate O'Mara again in season 24. We also see Sylvester McCoy move the Doctor from lighthearted jester to a more mysterious, even cunning figure.
Time has been kinder to this season then reviewers were at the time; there is some interesting stuff lurking in the stories and a sense the show is moving onto a new track, if the Beeb will give it the time and budget to do so...

The James Webb Space Telescope has done it again—revealing a breathtaking structure now dubbed the “Cosmic Vine”: a string of 20 galaxies stretching across a staggering 13 million light-years!
What makes this discovery so shocking? This colossal formation dates back nearly 11 billion years, forming just 3 billion years after the Big Bang—a time when galaxies were thought to still be forming in isolated clumps. Instead, JWST captured a massive, organized structure linking galaxies together much earlier than expected.
This discovery challenges traditional theories about how and when galaxies clustered together in the early universe. It hints that the cosmic web—the vast, invisible scaffolding of the universe—was already weaving galaxies into chains and networks far earlier than we thought.
📚 Scientists are now rethinking the models of galactic evolution and exploring how such a structure could arise so quickly in cosmic history. The “Cosmic Vine” might just be the key to understanding how galaxies interacted, merged, and shaped the universe we see today.
🔭 Thanks to JWST’s infrared vision, we’re seeing the universe not just as it is—but as it was, long before Earth even existed.

@Strobe_Lightly Dude's pulling the old self-pinkwash beardos are fond of, perhaps to clean off the lingering smell of his creepy Portman dating story. Randomly call things transphobic, and all is forgiven.
Works even when they've made fun of trans peeps in the past - just ask Frankie Boyle.

@AudreySuffolk @TracyEdwardsMBE @suzanne_moore Isn’t it the political intelligence of the person who chose her that is at fault?
English

Harriet Harman hasn’t the emotional intelligence to understand she wasn’t the right woman to comment about Jenni Murray on the BBC. It needed someone like @suzanne_moore who understands the great courage and integrity needed to sacrifice her job for women’s sex based rights

@MotherN90933211 @GoodwinMJ And there's so many of them around, griftin' and projectin'.

@MotherN90933211 @GoodwinMJ If he's going to borrow the title of Koestler's book from 1963, he should probably look up the word "mimophant" too. Would be educational.

It’s like they do it on purpose to offend.
Easter is not National Chocolate Day.

@helenstaniland There used to be a few anime fillums floating around 30-40 years ago that weren't sketchy. But then the Internet, with its pervy USENET mis-users/abusers and gooner forums came along, with a side-order of conventions for chronically online weirdos.
RIP non-creepy anime.
English

No, none of this has ever occurred to me, because I'm not insane.
Dubhán@01Dubhan
@helenstaniland You hate anime because the female characters actually look like women and most TERFs look like men starting on HRT. Did it ever occur to you that the birth rate of western civilization keeps falling because modern women are too ugly to fuck. Also abortion rights are gun rights.
