The gene therapy is a shortened form of the dystrophin gene. This microdystrophin gene produces a protein about one-third the size of the original protein. The shortened gene is packed into harmless viruses for delivery to muscle cells.

The first gene therapy for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The therapy can be used in 4- and 5-year-olds with the degenerative muscle disease, the agency announced June 22.

#disneyland Unable to get a DAS pass at Disneyland. Apparently not disabled enough with duchenne muscular dystrophy and non-ambulatory.

Kids made Cade cards today. It made his day. He’s determined to walk again. #duchenne

Sadly, he will have to withdraw from Cal State Channel Islands this semester. He will be back!

Day 10 after Cade’s fall. At our 3rd hospital. Now hospitalized for intense physical therapy. Cade is an incredible, strong young man. I am beyond proud to be his mom.

@Hertz @hertz. Can someone please look into this further? I need written proof that we already paid in full, and that the rental car was returned with a full tank of gas on 7/15/22. Also need to make sure all three $3500 charges are gone. I’ve been DMing for days!

Warning for those renting cars from @Hertz. We went to the Boston area for medical treatment for my son. We returned our rental car on time. Just had $3500 taken out of our checking account for a late return. Initially accused of not returning car.

@CNN In the middle of this nightmare now. Hertz keeps emptying my checking account with bogus charges. Each time we think it’s cleared up, we get a call saying we never returned the vehicle a month ago.
