@AntoninHerbeck @Prv_Siv @87keys Happens every season. Team will innovate, other teams will argue it falls out with the regulations. If it doesn’t then it becomes the norm and if it does the technical directives halt it

FIA’s refusal to enforce 2026 engine limits until Jun is a disaster for F1. Allowing Merc to exploit the 'thermal expansion' loophole for the first 7 races isn’t innovation, it’s sanctioned rule manipulation. This isn't racing; it’s a rigged start that kills the sport’s integrity

@AntoninHerbeck @Prv_Siv @87keys It’s absolutely not cheating. F1 is literally teams trying to circumnavigate technical directives to gain an advantage. Adrian Newey says it best. It’s not what the rules say you can’t do, it’s what they don’t say you can’t do

@BryanCassidy_ @Prv_Siv @87keys I understand that - but is that cheating as someone imply here? This was always happening with customer cars... but I doubt that Mercedes has "compression optimization" and other teams with the same engine do not...

@samjamLFC @ccochrane64 @87keys Think we are probably a long way off how the cars are gonna look by the end of the season. Gonna be so many technical directives and rule changes as we go. Wind tunnel time gonna play huge part. Engine/battery issues aside, I think AM car might be lot better than we think

@BryanCassidy_ @ccochrane64 @87keys Probably yeah they know it in and out and might have there own software set up for deployment and regeneration, the car looks good but seems to be on the edge I think the Ferrari looks stable but needs more power and FIA just nerfed the start procedure which I think is wrong

@samjamLFC @ccochrane64 @87keys Don’t think you are wrong. Especially with the cost cap McLaren would have been able to throw more r&d. Do think though as this early stage because they developed it that Mercedes just understand the engine more than their customer teams atm

@ccochrane64 @87keys If it was all engine then Williams and McLaren would equally be as fast, when the Mercedes engine came in 2014 Williams I think finished 3rd so this proves it’s not all engine I do think Ferrari would be slightly closer if they sorted the deployment issue out
