@_imey I agree — there was certainly conflict between different Picts and Gaels. But the ultimate assimilation of the Picts on the mainland by the Gaels had to have been peaceful. There is no evidence to suggest otherwise.

@BamaExpat Gaelic did not "wipe out" Pictish — Picts assimilated into the culture when a Gael became their king. Gaelic was the hegemonic language over most of the country before Scots started to take over during the 1200s.

We think Pictish was a P-Celtic tongue, more related to Welsh, Cornish, Manx, etc. The arrival and establishment of Gaelic wasn't 100% peaceful. The Dal Riadan sea people did not come merely as traders and farmers into the lands that been settled by the Brythonic Picts or Strathclyders or Northumbrians. They were warriors and conquerors.

@BamaExpat No, this is utter nonsense. Gaelic and Scots arrived at similar times. Anglic languages established themselves in southeastern Scotland by the 600s, Gaelic arrived in Scotland in the 400s at the latest. There's also a good bit of evidence suggesting it wasn't an import at all.

what the fuck is happening in the UK?! an 18yo kid was stabbed four times by a fellow british* man "Vikrum Digwa" who was openly carrying an 8 inch blade in public (which is illegal in the UK, but under the new racial laws only one ethnic group is allowed to do) chased down when he tried to escape, stabbed again, but since the gentleman claimed henry did one of the worst crimes one can commit in the west, doing a racism, the police put the bleeding kid in handcuffs and let him die on the pavement what the fuck?!

@_imey @BDSixsmith Because it seems utterly contrary to my eight years of policing that someone who was visibly stabbed would be handcuffed and allowed to die from blood loss in the street as presented. Almost an impossibility. The papers and prosecution both only present part of the truth.
