Beckman just keeps producing for Bridgeport. At 24 now, his overall game is vastly improved from when he was typecast as a tweener by the Wild. #isles agreed this year. I hope Darche is right. Cuz, if this is Verhaeghe 2.0 then Darche must go. It would be inexcusable.

Still gonna say I fucking hate advanced stats and analytics in hockey. It’s so over complicated what can be seen with the eye and understanding of the game. It’s just an accessory for those who lack the ability to otherwise analyze what’s right in front of their faces. If a team shits the bed you don’t need to explain it away with a best fit curve. It just is. If a power play isn’t converting, we don’t need to cross multiply to understand it needs to improve. I just miss the time when people understood the game for what it is. Now it’s all “Let me reduce fractions and find a hypotenuse to show you why Carson Soucy has been dog shit” and I just hate everything about this performative bullshit era of social media fandom we’re in. Hopefully logic and simplicity has a resurgence soon.

After watching the Islanders today, I am convinced Matthew Schaefer will be the only member of the team to ever play a future playoff game as an Islander. The farm system is empty, and the only forwards who would bring back anything decent in a trade are Horvat and Barzal. Sad.

@BryanLotto I know Eklund, Eiserman (not a Top 100 prospect) and Isaiah George. The only reason I can't name more is because none of them will ever play in the NHL.
