Another day, same lineup. Not to excuse Dan Wilson’s start to the year, but his first lineup as a Mariner manager was the exact same as Scott Servais’ last line up. There are higher ups in the franchise that are making these decisions. This franchise is disappointing.

@IISwitchII Was able to find a clip from Late March of this year. Notice despite having no leg kick, his head is still moving back more than he ever did last year. I’m sure this is affecting his plate vision + timing. Moving backwards is always a no no when facing elite velocity.

@IISwitchII Here’s an angle vs the padres, similar to swing vs. Astros. I can’t find any angels from Late March - Early April. However, the numbers show his swing speed is down, and I’m confident it has to do a lot with his new load he’s implemented this year.

Just so we are clear. An average big league SS gets around that ball and fields it routinely for an out. JP was dead last in range for MLB SS last year and should not be playing the position in the big leagues. Diving for a ball you should be fielding routinely is not a good play
