It pisses me off when people reply to those who want to abolish property taxes with “how will we pay for fire departments, roads, schools, libraries, etc?” There’s a push in Ohio to abolish property taxes after property taxes went outrageously high for many people last year. Ohioans are fed up. And some that support the abolition say they’re fine with raising the state income tax. People always miss the point. Don’t raise one tax to lower or abolish another. Replace that tax with nothing. MAKE CUTS TO THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT. Look at Ohio’s executive cabinet. Ask yourself why we need so many cabinet departments and agencies. Merge some of them. Eliminate the rest. Merge the Department of Medicaid into the Department of Health. Department of Aging? Why the hell do we need that? If there’s an essential service, merge it with another department and eliminate the rest. People want government to nanny them. They’re afraid of a free market and of not having government to tend to them for everything. Society really needs to fix this problem. Society needs to be a little more self-sufficient and learn to find alternative ways to get services.

When I go to a doctor's office I should be able to a board certified physician, not a physician's assistant or a nurse practitioner. They may be good people that are good at their jobs but they do not have the robust education and training of an MD.

I remember a time in my high school when the lowest possible grade was a 50%. What a joke. Put in zero effort yet get higher than a zero. We called it the “G O Five-O” and the school administration hated the term. If I remember correctly, they adjusted it. It is also a shame that kids who fail don’t get held back. The age of given without being earned needs to end.

I know a teacher in the South Bronx. He was trying to fail some kids who did not come to class once all year. “I wouldn’t recognize them if I saw them.” The computer’s “enter” button was ghosted at 0%. He tried 20%, 45%, 60%… eventually, it went green at 71%. They all got Cs.

I saw a post that seemed to sum it up perfectly, at least in my opinion: Massie used to be quirky, nerdy, but principled and fact-based. He used to use logic when arguing fiscal policy. But over the past year, he acted like a clout chasing poser who catered to social media people.

It’s pretty obvious why people are upset Massie lost: they hate President Trump and/or Israel. I criticize the president regularly. (I didn’t even vote for him.) I still think Massie losing was a good thing, and it has nothing to do with the current administration.

No loss of a follower here. He’s not the same Massie he was a couple of years ago. America First but he couldn’t keep Israel out of his mouth. I believe that a lot of our country’s problems are due to domestic policy and the political system. I also believe that our country might be better off if we could dismiss the entire Congress and start over. However, my concern is that PACs, the parties, and sitting politicians will issue endorsements in the primaries and influence the outcome, rather than the candidates working to earn the voters’ favor.
