This is an honorable message. Regardless of whether you support or don’t support Massie(I don’t), the amount of hate she has gotten over the last couple days is untoward. There’s a lot of horrible posts on here from conservatives about a conservative woman with a good voting record. I won’t be joining them. Conservative women get too much hate already.

In the video game community there is a game called Persona 4 that is topically and superficially very liberal. There’s fun high school romances, a gay character and a pop star are two of the main characters, and it takes place in a cute japanese town and features demons. But the overall messages in the game are conservative.

Greek ideas were absorbed into Roman culture, somewhat like British and Dutch ideas were absorbed into American culture. After they took over the greek city states, they didn’t just burn everything down. The greek language became a prestige language and that part of rome became similar to our ivy league.

I really don't know much about the Greeks. My understanding is that they invented democracy, but then the Romans conquered and stole all their gods and mythology. The Greeks then didn't contribute anything more to culture until the 2002 movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

It is a philosophical debate that has been going on for 1000’s of years. If I formally proved it I would be in the history books- that won’t be happening in the comments section. But its pretty clear when you look at the localized entropy pocket that is earth, humans and other gay animals have a biological drive to have gay sex and I think there is a convergence toward preferred ways. And it’s an amazing thing if you think about it.

I studied graphic design in school, while not purely art, you’re missing out on the best of humanity. I recall talking to someone, a guy. His walls were unusually empty and I asked him about it and he said he didn’t see a reason to have things like paintings on his walls because it was pretentious. I said Art is for your soul.

Thanks for comment. I’m not thinking very good atm and going to log off. I will say gay rights are good in Israel, and directionally there are places like Russia that have become less democratic over time, and there is a backslide in gay rights there. I don’t think Indonesia is going to have same sex marriage anytime soon but much more liberal than say afghanistan.

@BryceFrank40887 That's what I used to think but it can't explain the unpopularity of gay marriage in polled countries like Israel. Indonesia and Malaysia are also hardly 'anti-Western, in fact it was historically the Islamist factions that were most friendly to the West.

A long time ago all Christian countries were against gay marriage. Now most of the west is more tolerant of same sex marriage trending towards acceptance. I think the divide right now is less about specific religions and more about how anti-western the particular men who rule those non democratic nations are. In theory there isn’t anything about Islam that would make them less tolerant than christian countries even though that is obviously the case now.

Simplest explanation of these results is that it really does just come down to the degree to which the local religion holds homosexuality in contempt. Islamic cultures with almost universal hostility, Buddhist ones with solid mass acceptance, and Confucian cultures in between.
