Reinhold Stoof visited Brazil in 1933 with a Church membership book with space for 2,000 names. One elder laughed and said the book would never be filled. Stoof said he would live long enough to see ten of the books filled. The elder died in 1967. Brazil had 27,000 members.

A USC-led study found that children raised in Latter-day Saint families are the Christians most likely to remain in their faith throughout their lives. That shouldn’t be surprising. Latter-day Saints are the most devout Christians, as measured by the importance of religion in their lives and by their religious habits. And the broader research backs this up. Religion researcher Ryan Burge has shown that children raised in devout Christian homes are the most likely to stay in their parents’ faith as adults. It’s a myth that kids raised by devout Christians become irreligious. The data tells a very different story. Sources: Families and Faith by Vern Bengtson; Ryan Burge newsletter (Aug. 14, 2025).

What does my kind of conservatism want to conserve? Here are a few things, for starters: 1. The ur-principle of all sound morality, that of the profound, inherent, and equal dignity of each and every member of the human family. 2. Flourishing institutions of civil society, beginning with the marriage-based family. 3. The rule of law and limited, accountable, constitutional republican government. 4. Basic civil rights and liberties: freedoms of religion, speech, and assembly; due process and the equal protection of the laws. 5. Genuinely truth-seeking institutions of education at every level. 6. A prosperity-generating market-based economy that sustains and elevates living standards for everyone while operating within the bounds and subject to the requirements of the common good. 7. Public safety ensured by uncorrupted, efficient, and effective police, prosecutorial, and judicial authorities operating within rules fashioned to preserve and protect basic civil rights and liberties. 8. A physical environment supportive of human life and health and a moral ecology suitable for the rearing of children. 9. A strong military capable of defending the nation and its vital interests while remaining aloof from politics and respecting the principle of civilian authority.

“Cultivating temperance is a meaningful way to protect our souls against the subtle yet constant spiritual erosion caused by worldly influences that can weaken our foundation in Jesus Christ.” — @Ulisses__Soares #GeneralConference

Forgiveness is a divine gift offered through the grace of Jesus Christ. If you have committed serious sins and are in the process of or have the desire to fully repent and feel the unspeakable joy of forgiveness, please know this miracle is awaiting you. The Savior continuously calls, “Come unto me” (Matthew 11:28). Turning away from sin, turning toward God, and working to strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ is a beautiful beginning. God knows the thoughts and intents of your heart, and He rejoices at your eagerness to come unto Him with a broken heart and contrite spirit (see Doctrine and Covenants 59:8; 3 Nephi 9:20). Our Savior’s healing is a heavenly gift for all who truly love Him. #GeneralConference

All of us can have a new beginning through, and because of, Jesus Christ. Even you. New beginnings are at the heart of the Father’s plan for His children. This is the church of new beginnings! This is the church of fresh starts! Our new beginning doesn’t just happen once. We tend to think that baptism is our one shot at a new beginning. It isn’t. We don’t have just one chance. These new beginnings can happen every day! Jesus gives us as many new beginnings as we need. #GeneralConference

Christianity and mormonism are not the same. Mormons- - Rejects the traditional Trinity. God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are distinct beings, united in purpose but not in substance. - God the Father (Elohim) has a physical, exalted body of flesh and bone. Jesus (Jehovah) and the Holy Spirit are separate beings, with Jesus also having a glorified body. - Teaches that God was once a man who progressed to godhood, and humans can potentially become gods of their own worlds (doctrine of exaltation). - Accepts the Bible (King James Version preferred) as scripture but believes it contains errors and is incomplete. - Additional scriptures include the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price, considered divinely inspired. - Believes in ongoing revelation through living prophets, with the President of the Church as a modern-day prophet. - Jesus is a pre-existent spirit child of God the Father and a heavenly mother, the literal brother of all humans and angels (including Lucifer). - Salvation has two aspects: - **General salvation**: Resurrection for all through Christ’s atonement. - **Exaltation**: Eternal life in the highest (Celestial) kingdom, achieved through faith, repentance, baptism, ordinances (e.g., temple endowments), and obedience to LDS laws. - Emphasizes works alongside faith, including adherence to LDS ordinances and covenants. - Humans are eternal spirit children of God, pre-existing in a premortal state before earthly life. - The purpose of life is to progress toward godhood (exaltation) through obedience and ordinances. - After death, souls go to the spirit world, then face final judgment, with most assigned to one of three kingdoms (Celestial, Terrestrial, Telestial) or, rarely, outer darkness. - Claims exclusive authority through a restored priesthood (Melchizedek and Aaronic), passed down from Joseph Smith. - Essential ordinances include baptism, confirmation, temple endowment, and celestial marriage, necessary for exaltation. - Proxy ordinances (e.g., baptism for the dead) allow salvation for deceased ancestors. - Views itself as the restored true church, believing other Christian denominations lack the fullness of the gospel and proper authority. - Acknowledges truth in other faiths but considers them incomplete without LDS revelations and ordinances. NONE OF THESE BELIEFS are biblical and some are even blasphemous to the One True God. None of these beliefs are compatible with Christianity. Do not conflate the two. If you don’t like that I unapologetically tell the truth on my page, feel free to unfollow.

Assassination culture is spreading on the left. Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump. In California, activists are naming ballot measures after Luigi Mangione. The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response. This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb. foxnews.com/us/new-bombshe…

Well said. As a scientist who has spent his life studying the cosmos, one thing is obvious: Except for Earth, the universe is hostile to life. Earlier this month, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a video showing people across the globe viewing a special #LightTheWorld digital Christmas display in outdoor venues. Many of you may have already seen this video. But what you probably haven’t seen is the full digital display—the actual video that people in places like England, Japan, and Australia saw on city streets. Today, I want to share what they saw with you. How grateful I am for this sacred time of year to focus on the love and light of Jesus Christ. It is a blessing to be able to share it with all of God’s children—our brothers and sisters. I testify that Jesus Christ was born in a manger, that angels declared His birth, that He is our Savior and Redeemer, and that He lives today.

🚨🇺🇸KAMALA FAILED TO FLIP A SINGLE COUNTY IN THE 2024 ELECTION—A FIRST SINCE 1932 In the 2024 election, Kamala made history for all the wrong reasons, becoming the first major candidate since Herbert Hoover in 1932 to fail to flip a single county. This unprecedented outcome underscores her campaign's inability to connect with voters across the political spectrum. Analysts point to widespread dissatisfaction with the administration's policies and messaging as key factors. The Democratic Party faces a reckoning, with this result highlighting the urgent need for rebuilding voter trust and reestablishing ties with working-class Americans—a lesson from history they can’t afford to ignore.
