DESTROYING KASHMIR'S HINDU HERITAGE Dear Friends, I am here to seek National support on behalf of residents of Beerwah town in Budgam district of Central Kashmir Valley to stop illegal excavation of the sacred hill of 9th century Kashmiri Hindu sage Shri Maha Acharya Abhinav Gupt, the leading exponent of Kashmiri Hindu Shaivism. The Bhairav Hill, wherein the sacred cave is located, where Shri Maha Acharya Abhinav Gupt is said to have meditated along with his followers has been under constant attack from religiously conservative elements, who do not wish to see an existence of a sacred place of Kashmir's Non Muslim Kashmiri Hindu minority. Religiously conservative elements along with greedy mine mafia have been breaking and tearing apart stones from the sacred Bhairav Hill for the last 3 decades, since the rise of Pakistan backed separatist terrorism and the forced exodus of Kashmiri Hindu Pundits. A lot of damage was done to the slopes of this sacred Bhairav Hill in the last 30 years. However, after my personal activism to preserve the religious sanctity of this ancient sacred Kashmiri Hindu Shaivite shrine, the local administration put a stop to illegal excavation activities and constructed stairs and other infrastructure to facilitate pilgrimage by Kashmiri Hindu community and Hindus from other parts of India, which increased flow of tourists to the Beerwah town increasing profile of an otherwise little known town of Central Kashmir Valley. This also excited the local Kashmiri Muslim community, who became optimistic that their town will finally come on the radar of the tourist map of Central Kashmir. HOWEVER, things have changed for the worse since the last three weeks, when suddenly the illegal excavation of Bhairav Hill began once again with full vengeance. The local Kashmiri Muslim population of Beerwah town gathered to stop this excavation but unfortunately, the mafia elements destroying the sacred ancient Kashmiri Shaivite Hindu shrine appears to be emboldened by the support of the "powerful" political class. The local Kashmiri people of Beerwah town are afraid that elements who are carrying out the carnage of this ancient Kashmiri Hindu shrine are doing so with extreme malice and deep seated hatred against Hinduism and the Hindu community. The urgency in the matter has arisen due to the fact that illegal excavation of Bhairav Hill is going on right now, even as I write this text. I have personally taken these photos and videos, which I am attaching with this post in the comment section to draw the nation's attention on behalf of the people of Beerwah town to please put pressure to stop the destruction of Kashmir's ancient Hindu heritage, the pace of which has increased manifolds for the last three weeks. E-challan for transportation of minerals

14 clay laden dumpers seized in Budgam: Cracking whip on illegal mining, a seizure squad led by DMO Budgam and assisted by PS Chadoora seized 14 clay laden dumpers during nocturnal raids conducted at Kuzwera, Gowherpora and Magraypora area of Teshil Chadoora.

Two chain type excavators involved in illegal mining during night hours at Kuzwera Chadoora were seized by DMO Budgam.

Information about illegal extraction of clay during night hours at Damsama Kralpora in Tehsil B.K.Pora was received. A team of officials was immediately deployed to take action. JCB machine found on site was seized on spot and handed over to nearest Police Station.

Administrative Secretary Mining Department J&K UT, Dr. Rashmi Singh-IAS inaugurated the Geo-Science Museum and District Mineral Office at Ompora Budgam today.

Action against illegal mining continues in Budgam. A heavy excavator (Chain type) involved in unauthorized soil excavation at Haknipora Budgam was seized during a night raid. Besides this, two dumpers and a tipper was also seized during naka checkings at different places.

2 JCBs and 5 tippers seized After receiving inputs about illegal mining and transportation of minerals at Khansahib, Hardpanzu and Chadoora, DMO Budgam promptly deployed teams to these areas which seized 2 JCB machines and 5 mineral laden tippers and handed them over to police

Foiling another attempt of illegal mining, DMO Budgam and his team seized one more Excavator at Palar Budgam during a surprise night raid. Reiterating its resolve to curb illegal mining, DMO Budgam said that offenders shall continue to be chased until they surrender.

Crackdown against illegal mining continues. In yet another successful nightlong operation in the karewas of Juhama and Patwaw villages of Tehsil Budgam, two Chain type Excavators were seized. A dumper and a tipper was also seized for illegal transportation of minerals.

In a significant achievement, 4 excavators (chain type) were seized by DMO Budgam after found involved in illegal mining. 3 Excavators were seized at Palar and 1 at Sholipora. Raids have been intensified and there will be zero tolerance against illegal mining.

Continuing its efforts to curb illegal mining, DMO Budgam was successful in seizing 2 chain type excavators during separate surprise raids at Chararisharief and Palar Budgam. Seized machinery have been handed over to concerned police stations.
