We joke about it a lot, but the boomer girl dad dynamic is real.
There are running jokes in multiple departments about how certain hiring managers have their “preferred candidate profiles” (blonde, 30 or younger, highly servile). If you find out you’re in the running against them for a role or promotion, it’s best to just start making other plans.
I wish it weren’t so, but alas.

Health officials are tracking a growing outbreak of the parasitic stomach illness cyclosporiasis, with confirmed cases now reported in 31 states. Since May, the CDC has confirmed 800 cases, while more than 1,500 additional cases remain under investigation. So far, 86 people have been hospitalized, and no deaths have been reported.
The CDC says the hallmark symptom is watery, often “explosive” diarrhea that can last for weeks or even months if left untreated. The source of the outbreak remains unknown, though Michigan health officials believe it may be linked to fresh produce, including lettuce, basil, cilantro, and snow peas.

Upper-middle-class families are in a weird dead zone with college. They make too much to qualify for meaningful financial aid, but not enough to casually write $100,000 checks every year without it completely changing their life. So the kid looks rich on paper, gets little help, and the parents are expected to absorb the cost of a house down payment every single year. College pricing has also obviously become absurd.
