@avipat_ Sets a bad precedent, disappointing from GC. Genuinely confused by the similarity tho, how hard is it to make the website a different color? Who doesn’t think to change a few details

General Catalyst just co-led a $31.5 million seed round into a blatant rip-off of my company, Kled. (skip to 40 seconds if you want to skip context) I would typically not speak on things like this, but this level of blatant copycatting is egregious and completely unacceptable, and needs to be made an example of. This is one of hundreds of YC startups who have conducted this disgusting behavior. Unimaginative slop that continues to get rewarded due to nepotism.
Yuri Sagalov@yuris

Super excited to colead @LuelCompanyAI’s $31.2M seed round. There are certain teams you meet where you know within 5 minutes that you want to partner with them Luel is one of those team. William and Inigo are incredibly ambitious founders who understand the human data bottleneck from the inside out. They've built Luel to create a scalable, reliable supply of that data — something that will be foundational to the next generation of AI.

@mcuban True, but the inverse is the opening. They ship your product as a feature and resource it like one. You resource it like your life. Figma, Linear, Superhuman all won in exactly that gap.

Maybe it’s the Gen-Z in me, but i fully don’t care about privacy. I am post-privacy. I am giving OpenAI access to all of my finances, all of my health data, everything, I don’t care anymore

AI startup exits might be completely different than in the SaaS era. Claude, Codex and Cursor have enabled incumbents like OpenAI to simply build the startup they want. This tool alone probably wiped out 20+ startups. Exits via M&A could be a thing of the past for most startups. The only sensible reason for a strategic acquisition today is for proprietary data, customers, or a desperation move for legacy orgs falling behind.

Almond orchard output in the Central Valley will probably halve in the next decade anyways, you can thank the CA Sustainable Groundwater Management Act. Reduced pumping will cap irrigated acreage, and when orchards die they’re gone for good. Not like other crops where you can just plant more seed and start over next year

Yesterday I interviewed @SeanZCai about AI data. This is essentially a guide for founders on how to sell data and RL envs to AI labs. "I've never seen a data contract get turned down by a top lab, if it's good quality data, for budget reasons." 00:00 What areas of data are underserved? 02:10 For bio data, is it real-world or purely digital? 04:21 For cyber data, which subsets are most underserved? 05:50 What is the sales process like? 07:04 Why would a lab not renew or increase their purchase volume? 10:13 When a researcher is exploring a new direction, what's the first step? 11:35 In robotics data, what do you view as underserved? 13:12 What does the initial data delivery look like, what format? 13:53 Do labs have more sophisticated internal setups for running environments? 14:32 Are the non-frontier labs buying off-the-shelf data from Anthropic / OpenAI vendors? 16:11 Do Anthropic data vendors put expiry timeframes on the exclusivity? 16:42 Are purchase decisions researcher-led? 17:41 Decagon, Sierra, Ramp: what kinds of data are they buying? 19:06 Long-term, when do labs still need to buy external data vs train on user traces? 21:15 Will end-vendor benchmarks shift to performance per dollar? 22:04 How many labs are spending at the 1B+/yr data level? 23:53 Delta between Anthropic's stated $1B and your 10-20B/lab number? 26:05 What makes inference providers / neoclouds a good fit to acquire RL env cos?

As unfortunate as it is, this is what most Americans would vote for. The AMERICAN PEOPLE need to be LOBBIED just as much as congress does. Communication has been abysmal with rural communities / working class / etc. They don’t care if US wins the AI race, and that’s because tech leaders here in SV have their heads too far up their asses to realize that. It’s time for us to stop complaining to our bubble on X, and instead SHOW communities how they stand to benefit, otherwise they just hear about coastal elites sucking up the town’s water and electricity on their facebook feeds.

Sanders and AOC introduced a bill to pause ALL AI data center construction. 300+ local bills filed. Half of planned 2026 data centers facing delays or cancellation. Each one brings billions to local economies. The people who say they want American jobs are trying to block the biggest job creation engine since the interstate highway system.

How to upgrade your self-image in 1 day: Close your eyes. Become aware of the sensations in your body. Focus on how it feels to breathe slower. Do this as you slowly relax every muscle in your body. Head to toe. Within five minutes you'll notice a tingling sensation in your palms while you relax. Once that sensation arrives, you will be able to visually go within yourself to create permanent changes in the subconscious: transforming who you believe yourself to be. Now for the next few minutes, allow yourself to mentally recall a time where you won. The first time you felt truly loved. A risk you took that paid off. The first time you realized you were capable of more than you thought. Experience the scene fully. You might notice warm feelings in your chest as you replay these memories. This is the good part. Fly to the future and imagine the greatest version of you. Notice how ASSERTIVE they stand. Notice how they appear. Sense their confidence. They've overcome the things that keep you up at night. They've built what you've only imagined. They live life knowing exactly who they are. Allow the image to become bigger, brighter... Time will slow as your subconscious examines every detail. Now imagine how it would feel if this was you right now. Picture yourself in their shoes. Can you feel it? Linger there for five minutes. You find yourself softly smiling knowing this is the happiest and most relaxed you have felt in a long time. Lie there for a while. Enjoy this moment. Know that you can return here whenever you wish, exactly to this place, where you feel exactly as you do now. All you have to do is close your eyes and imagine yourself back here. You feel rejuvenated by that thought. Open your eyes and interact with the world from this state. Believe it or not this is what you are eventually supposed to feel every single day. You will begin to notice that all the things you want to be are already within. Few take the time to practice this. Do this daily and you begin to rewire your mind. Change your beliefs. Think, act, and become the person you've seen glimpses of throughout your life. This is Self-Hypnosis. This is Psycho-Cybernetics. This is how you do it. I've released a full PDF 8 week workbook including 20+ exercises on how to do this on my substack. (Link is in tweet below) —Cogito Ergo Sum

AI is making you stupid. Today, we're introducing the all new Oboe, designed to make you smarter. Think about the last 10 answers you got from an LLM. How many of them do you actually remember? Probably none, because LLMs are not good teachers. But @oboelabs helps you learn the way humans are supposed to: through guided conversations, frequent checks for understanding, real-time adjustments, and multiple formats for all learning styles. Here's everything we're introducing today:

overtime you realize every thing you own is a small tax on your attention. maintenance, storage, insurance, repairs.. all kind of take up precious bandwidth even if you delegate it or whatever. in the past ownership used to mean freedom because the world was scarce. if you wanted access, you had to basically possess. but the modern world has been kinda redesigned around rent where you can rent anything.. incl. people, places, objects, taste, labor, entertainment.. all available on demand with a tap of a button. why would you own a car when there is uber? why would you have a vacation home when you can stay at anything you desire? why would you allocate capital anywhere other than markets where it actually compounds?

vis-a-vis the Anthropic SPV "crackdown" tweets circulating
TBPN@tbpn

Anduril's @mttgrmm is in a long-running war with "wildcat" secondary markets who have “absolutely zero respect” for founders and investors. "How many investors in America think they own a chunk of SpaceX when they're actually funding their ex-roommate's boyfriend's coke habit in Miami?" "The SpaceX IPO will be very interesting. This is going to be a situation where the tide goes out, and there's going to be a lot of people without trunks on." "There was this one situation of someone slinging an offer around that was an SPV into another SPV that was buying a chunk of an early investor's holdings. There are layers and layers of fees and carries on top of that, at a price per share that was something like 70% above what the last round traded at. It's just an insane thing. They're pitching access to a deal they don't have." "There was a recent indictment announced in New York around a case where someone was out slinging Anduril SPVs that did not have access to Anduril, and the guy was just pocketing the cash. He was just indicted and arrested at JFK." "This isn't a blanket comment that all secondaries are bad. They're not. There's a category of these people who just have no respect and are basically just fraudsters and hucksters."
