Asked why he didn't coordinate with allies before going to war with Iran, Trump says, "We didn't tell anyone about it. Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Harbor, OK?"
🚨 Cubs baseball just got even easier to watch!

DOOCY: If Iran tries to hit us back, have you been briefed about how many Iran sleeper cells there could be inside the US right now?
TRUMP: I have been, and a lot of people came in through Biden with his stupid open border. But we know where most of them are.
@Taxsavvyjessica I had a client tell me he could take a $70k profit-sharing contribution through his business, without making payments to employees, and even though his salary was only $80k. He believed it because AI told him he could. We fought a long time on that one.
He's now an ex-client.
I’m about to send a “Stop using AI to ask for things” bulk email to all my clients who constantly send me AI formatted messages and emails. The sloppy word soup I’m continue to get is over the top and causing more issues than it’s helping. 🤦🏼♀️
@kwilson020@LoganGrafTax We are exactly the same, although mid-February, and that is later than normal for us. No sense in taking on new distractions now. Instead, I ask if they want to be on our wait list. I have about 50 on the waitlist. There are plenty of PNCs and plenty of time after 4/15.
@LoganGrafTax We accepted new client meetings until the end of February, but after 3/1 we communicate that we focus on current client relationships the last 6 weeks and are happy to talk post 4/15. We extend over 60% of our work so if they aren't good with an extension that's a flag for us.
A lot of tax pros think it's too late to take on good clients once March hits.
That’s only true if you don’t have good systems.
Just had a new client meeting yesterday, and they signed the proposal the same day.
We walked through our scheduling system and explained that their return isn't guaranteed to be filed by 4/15.
If needed, we'll prepare an extension estimate and file it when we have capacity.
Good clients respect transparency.
When your systems and expectations are clear, you can add quality clients at any time during tax season.
#ScamAlert#TaxTwitter I get a LOT of phishing emails. It's disheartening, but I accept that it's part of the broken world that we live in. But for some reason, this one really emotionally got to me this morning. Be wary and do not blindly click on email links.
FTR, I pounded out 24 returns this weekend. All were completed, except 5 where I requested more data. One of those was finished this morning.
How was your weekend?
If your roof needs a $45,000 repair 20 years from now, that means you should be saving $2,250/year, or $187.50/month
Do you do this? Almost nobody does
A shortcut: Save 1%-3% of the price of the house -- PER YEAR -- for maintenance. For a $500K house, that's $10k/year
@TaxCommander Six years ago I started scheduling returns, moving clients out of tax season and charging premium fees in tax season. Now I go to FL every year mid-March for 5-6 days. This year, I leave Friday.
How does other #TaxTwitter friends feel watching your family plan vacations, in my case a beach trip, for spring break while you stay home to work tax season hours?
Today is David Gilmour's 80th birthday! 🎉
It’s also the 20th anniversary of his On an Island album, released on this day in 2006.
To celebrate, we’ll be sharing tracks from the 2006 AOL Session in New York over the next few days – starting today with the album's title track.
Watch the full performances on David’s YouTube channel (link in bio).
@ThoughtfulTechy I am more fatigued by people extolling the virtues of how great Claude is, and then is unable to present a single use case that didn’t already exist.
